I mean I think that’s how any NORMAL fan of Kanye thinks
“He a piece of s*** for what he’s saying, but I still love the man and his music”
I think most of his level headed fans think this
its nick cave silly. Didnt you follow the rules before posting here? U need to know /mu/s top 40 most played
?
Incredibly disappointing comments, especially when it comes from someone I admire profoundly.
Oh, well… at least he’s consistent; he said the exact same thing about Morrissey.
Spot on POV. Assumed most have this perspective and can separate his comments from his music.
he just doesn't know how to express s*** ye is not a hateful person
Everybody that has ever been close to him says otherwise.
Nick Cave continues being the realest out here
Who cares. It’s a personal choice to support antisemitism. Right now no one should be defending Kanye or going on tangents about “separating the artist from his opinions” while the guy is actively spreading hate speech and buying Parler.
It’s a personal choice to support dogshit music as well and you’ve made that by listening to Taylor swift
Kanye really do deliver on his albums.
One of the only people in the music game where no albums sound alike tbh. And most of them are still classics.

Lol
What’s disappointing about saying you think the greatest hip hop artist of all time makes great music?

Praising two legends for making some of the most influential music of all time is disappointing?
“ On some level I don’t care what Kanye has to say on things, but I do love Kanye, his music”
Sums up the last 5+ years for me
Hoe ass hoe can’t wait til u come back on ur next alt
Have spotted this avi in life szn..
who’s nick cave?
Absolute icon of alternative music, but most famous in the 90s so probably before our time for most of us.
This is his most famous song (and it's a classic for sure)
he has a lot of more experimental stuff too though, and is world renowned for his insanely good live shows. he does a lot of great stuff in film too

especially the music. it's not like he's gone back and replaced College Dropout bars with a load of anti semitic tropes lol.
I think with newer artists it's possible. But a lot of people have listened to Kanye or Kanye productions most weeks for the last 5, 10, 15, 20 years (depending on their age). That love for his music isn't going to go away over night, humans are too bad at changing their habits lol

I would have thought The Mercy Seat is his most famous song.
Regardless, everyone should know him in the sense they should know every classic artist. He's been active since the 70s, produced classics in every decade since, and has made what are arguably his best albums in the past ten years.
A truly wonderful man. As you said, his work in film is great, whether as a screenwriter or composer. And the beautiful Andrew Dominik documentary that coincided with the death of Cave's son really captures the profound wisdom of the artist.

what is it that finally got this fool muted

Maybe it depends where you live but globally it's Into My Arms (90m streams whereas Mercy Seat has 4m). Love Mercy Seat though...
Into My Arms is the song every non-Nick Cave fan loves from Nick Cave lol. Nick actually talks about that in this interview - how it's used at weddings and funerals all the time.
Whole interview is great and on YouTube if you want to watch it, it's about 25 mins long.
Completely agree about the 2010s being his best decade yet. His most classic songs (Into My Arms, Stagger Lee, God is in the House etc.) come from other eras, but as an album Magneto is one of my all time favourites. His live performances have been amazing too in the 2010s.
Yes that documentary and also the album he made around his son's death were heartbreaking but beautiful.
