My friend has already played for a couple hours and said the fighting mechanics, stages and online play are all solid. However it’s definitely not a finished product, there are no character voices but a patch will be released soon.

What’s the verdict

I can not understand the hype for this game and I have all the love for the characters featured. But it just looks so unimaginative

the hype is all in the fight mechanics and the IP. everything else about the game is pretty barebones and unpolished but as long as its solid mechanically we still gonna have a good time with it and hopefully the rest can be patched in

Because Smash online is terrible

It’s the idea of that some shovelware game can be this mechanically deep with al the tech it has, plus the IP. The rollback netcode is a huge factor too. If this game has rollback, there’s zero excuse why major fighting game franchises do not.

Is it worth $50? Imo, hell no I’ll pick it up for memes for at least $20

It’s like a 2021 diet Melee with Nickelodeon characters from mainly the 90s-early 00s. So nostalgia bait, but it’s pretty good.
