I genuinely think you all truly forgot what actually led to Mickey’s downfalls calling her jealousy and arrogance. Drake after take care did nothing but constantly hang around up-and-coming artists and use his crossover status to make them popular, as well as keep working with them after they get popular. Nikki did not do that because she be with any other female rapper has competition. If Nikki made the city girls, Cardi, Doja or Megan popular before anyone else she would still be relevant.

dumbest take on the entire site

Nicki’s verse on Bussin sounds like a 6ix9ine ref

It’s important to realize as well that era was a edm/pop era. She made the right career move in my eyes.

She was just a singles artist though. None of her albums are listenable or cohesive

Nicki was never about to be in Drake's place because she never had a Take Care or any album that will make the people take her seriously

The Pinkprint is the closest but even that album was flawed and lacked focus, and since then she's mostly known for petty nonsense and her fanbase than her actual songs

Nicki was never at Drake’s current level.

Her biggest demise is the fact she’s always been nothing more than a hit chaser and desperate to crossover.

She has no type or vision or drive. All her albums are like 25 tracks with 15+ that age terribly. S***ty trendy songs such as electro-Pop David Guetta and Dr. Luke. Will do features with absolutely anyone. This woman is still doing Meghan Trainor and Jason Derulo rent a features til this day.

She got distracted by fleeting pop music she couldve doubled down on rap
In 2014 she was going that way with Chiraq Looking as Nigga Yass bish

I agree 100 percent! Nicki went way to pop and that f***ed up her career in the long run. Most of Nicki albums are extremely dated and unlistenable

Like I said, this is trap/hip hop era and Nicki was popping during EDM . Pop artist and EDM artists are now on trap beats. Ofc it makes more sense to stick to trap now.

What you’re saying has nothing to do with what I said. Nicki felt like she didn’t have to rap so she lost relevancy

I was so excited for Pinkprint being a full rap album but once again she decided to go pop with it

    2018 was her year too

Not even the biggest female rapper that year...

  • Feb 13, 2022

Nicki's brand and fame was arguably as big as Drake's during that time because of the novelty of being a new female rap star, being a judge on American Idol, and her jocking Gaga's trend of wearing crazy costumes in her music videos.

But, musically, Drake was always on another level. In 2009 alone, every kid was anticipating Drake to be the new protege to Wayne whereas Nicki's actual music outside Super Bass, Starships, the verse on Monster, and Anaconda didn't have much longevity. Her brand and image exceeded her music back in that era.

    Still a legendary run though.

The only person who’s ever cut the creative and financial legs out from under Nicki is Nicki.

The last five years has been nothing but mid music, her getting on speaking platforms and embarrassing herself and constantly getting around and supporting child molesters.

She rapped just as much as a lot of these new niggas(people from last 5ish years) now.

she is lucky that Drake doesnt push and feature other hot upcoming female rappers because he been too loyal to her and the YMCB legacy

He hasn’t given her a hit since early 2015
