There's really no shame in getting other writers involved when you're almost 2 decades into your career. Especially on a pop type of song like this. You've already proven yourself as a writer in the past but your stuff will start to sound dated if you aren't open to collaboration in the writer's room. Drake, Kanye, etc. have all done it.
Exactly. This song sounds hilariously dated. Even the way she structured it is super amateur and 2014ish, she needed to go grab a writer for this. Even the rap verse sounded awkward as hell and out of place. Forced.
