All this because I compared Nicki to Hov lol I wasn’t tryna make you lose faith in humanity im sorry. Im actually a fan of guys like Mike so im not on some “only mainstream” stuff but to at this point I like seeing an artist do what Benny is doing and try to branch out and grow, at some point the whole underground thing can just feel safe to me

Im not on some numbers over everything s*** but I do respect the people who are able to make an impact

The landscape of art consumption has changed a lot so I think about these things a lot as an artist, maybe to the point where I internalize some of the “fast food” mentality but that’s not really where I’m at with it

I just think it’s more important than ever, even for these underground artists with great messages, to somehow be able to cut through the noise on a bigger level and make that connection and be heard, not be able to be ignored. These artists and scenes and messages are going to stay lowkey if the music stays lowkey but I guess it is what it is. I’m just genuinely not as impressed by underground artists these days as I once was
