Smacked VoodooI still love the way Square gave middle fingers to OG FF7 fans and basically did what they wanted to do with the story and characters.
Still love OG FF7 and think it's worth playing to this day. But there is nothing wrong with FF7R existing as it is.

Meh as much as I love seeing the world of FF7 come alive the changes are pretty atrocious tbh
Doesnt stop me from enjoying the games but the storytelling is not good at all

NewhouseTOTK works for the first like 10 hours or so but then you start to see why it's such a lazy follow-up to BOTW lol
the mainland is mostly copy-paste from the first game with different (bad) shrine locations. Side quests are weak, zero variety or anything of real interest to do in the sky or depths. New mechanics are cool but break literally everything about traversing the world. Dungeons are back, they all suck and can be broken in seconds. Story is ass and full of plotholes.
At a certain point the most exciting thing you'll do is look for caves
Caves really were the best thing they added in the game
some of them were better dungeons than the actual dungeons

Grew up with OG FF7 so I appreciate that they've ported it and added QoL changes that make replaying it less of a chore, and I love knowing that FF7R exists as an option as well.
Only the smooth brain troglodytes argue between the two instead of embracing both.
