omg he's doing it again with the Geno hype

I’m not saying Geno is for sure in but it’s interesting that GameXplain mentioned only those two characters.

They got like 5 selections for the white mii's but only one selection for the Asiatic black man

Nintendo already placed botw2 on their earnings call for this fiscal year

So their investors were told months ago

Nintendo haven't officially put out that BotW2 is a 2020 release. It's still TBA for now.

they did list it in this current fiscal year in their earnings call with investors

that could technically mean early 2021 because the fiscal year extends to March 2021 but they want to be competitive in the fall 2020, which means it would be shooting themselves in the foot to release it a few months later like in feb or March 2021

Also they always have a huge first party title in November or December (like Pokémon, smash or Mario) so if Zelda is coming in 2021 that would mean they hid some other huge game from us (seems unlikely)

    technically speaking

    Nintendo's fiscal year is April 2020 - March 2021

Zelda could be out in March, that'd be the 4 year anniversary

you know what? that actually seems extremely likely

    4 year anniversary* not 3

    but yeah

that’s a possibility but it means they must have some other HUGE game coming in November or December and I’m just not sure what it could be

    Mario remasters or NHM3

I’m talking about a huge Nintendo first party title

    Not a remaster

That doesn’t make any competitive sense

    Holiday 2017: super Mario odyssey
    Holiday 2018: super smash bros
    Holiday 2019: pokemon sw/sh
Holiday 2020: a remaster of some old titles?

The Mario remasters would sell a lot and make a lot of money. Why restrict which type of game fits in that category? All that matters is if it will sell well to be big and those will sell well.

it’ll probably sell about as much as other remasters did

It’s not on the level of a full new Mario title or a full new Pokémon title

And they wouldn’t have Zelda release in early 2021 and just have some remasters during the most competitive period in the market since the release of the switch lol

It’s like you guys are using 0 common sense in this thread

I personally think it’s big enough to be their holiday title. Assuming rumors are true and it’s 64/Sunshine/Galaxy in 1 collection for $60, that would sell a ton. 3 of the best games ever made from Nintendo’s biggest franchise for $60? It will sell.

that’s laughable. The holiday that they’re competing with new consoles, the Nintendo exclusive AAA release is some remasters of old games? That’s silly. The remasters are coming, sure, maybe in October or November, but that hilarious to assume it’s the big release of the holiday season

Pokémon is their biggest franchise btw

How is that laughable? Look how successful Crash and Spyro remasters were. Look how well XC:DE did in a genre that’s probably the least popular video game genre. Look how well Final Fantasy 7 remaster did.

Remasters can sell well and if it’s 3 GOAT games for 1 price? It will sell well.

Of course it would sell well. It would sell well any month of the year.

But It’s not the huge new AAA release that’s going to get people interested in switch around holiday season

There’s already great remasters of super Mario 64 on the 3ds

Wii U runs super Mario galaxy 1 and 2

It’s like great I’m excited for the remasters and I will buy them and they’ll sell well but it’s nowhere on the level of the holiday titles that they’ve had over the last 3 years and that’s such a stupid argument to make

Maybe it’s just me but if I didn’t have a Switch I would 100% buy a switch for Super Mario Sunshine HD alone.

not sure what would cement the downfall of the switch more than the 2017 holiday title being a brand new installment in the Mario series and the 2020 holiday title is just a 1080p version of some old Mario games lol

  • Jul 7, 2020

I actually told people I would be a WiiU if we got Super Mario Sunshine 2 or HD

    “Some old Mario games”

    You are underselling these games.

Super Mario Galaxy is in the top 10 highest rated games of all time. People would love to have access to that game again.

It’s a game people want and Nintendo will release it and it will sell well

These are all obvious statements, please stop repeating them

still, a huge new AAA title from Nintendo will push people to buy a switch this holiday, just like every year in the past. It’s 90% going to be Zelda because I doubt there’s some other huge game coming that they haven’t announced. Maybe super mario odyssey 2 but that’s highly doubtful.

That game is not going to be the Mario remasters, but you will get that game and it will be popular because people want it. I know, that’s obvious, stop repeating it.

The highest selling game on the Switch is a port of Mario Kart 8. The Mario Remasters could easily be the holiday game and get people to buy switches.

I could also seeing it being BOTW2 but I also wouldn't be surprised if BOTW2 isn't ready to be a holiday title.

Also if you say the Mario remasters won't be a system seller neither will BOTW2. It's a sequel to a a Switch game already, people who buy BOTW2 will be people who bought BOTW1 and most likely already own a Switch plus you have people who won't buy BOTW2 if they were disappointed in BOTW1.

yeah that’s not true. We don’t even know if it’s called botw 2

It could just as easily be called legend of Zelda: Ganon’s curse or some s*** and if it’s a huge game and very successful then people won’t say “oh well I didn’t play botw so I can’t play Ganon’s curse”

The result will be a s***load of switches will probably be sold bundled with Ganon’s curse

Mario kart 8 remaster was a good launch title, it would never be released in November or December as their big AAA release of the holiday

Also botw was top 3 selling games on the console so if all those people buy botw2 it’ll be another top selling game, which makes it make sense as the huge AAA release for the holiday season
