And just because one game made so much money doesn’t mean they should stop making other games.

Imagine if Nintendo turned in rockstar and never released another game because AC did so well.

It’s not just the sales, it’s the overall interest with the console. Switch was in very high demand and it wasn’t just because of AC. COVID also delayed games as well. Pikmin 3 was not supposed to drop in October. We know Nintendo’s schedule by now and their major releases are in October/November/December. That won’t happen because of the pandemic. This holiday season, Nintendo can take it easy and don’t need to press the issue. Two major consoles are ready to drop as well so it don’t make sense at all to compete with that when they don’t have to.

a lot of software was delayed this year industry-wide so idk why nintendo is expected operate as if business is usual. even ps5 and xbox launch titles are getting pushed back or given nebulous release windows

Wait, you are telling me they shouldn’t compete with new consoles? If anything that’s when they should drop major games and maybe a $50 price cut on the console.
