Id say Halo Wars is a better comparison than Reach, since Reach is still a main series game

The Reach comparisons just come from the story. It's the same story in a different universe.

story alone yes, although many games and films have had prequel stories where most people die setting the grounds for the new era, such as LOTR and Star Wars

but a lot of people on Twitter who are making the comparison between Reach and Hyrule are also dismissing Hyrule, as Reach had hit-or-miss mechanics for a MAIN series Halo game

and as shown in this thread, some people thought Hyrule Warriors 2 was mainline prequel at first and the Reach comparisons wont help that

the fact you need this much explanation is crazy to me

Halo Wars 2 is a sequel to Halo 5

but only as far as the story goes
