There’s actually been a whole lot of sales on the Switch eShop. Both indie games, third party and first party games go on sale on the eShop several times a year. I bet there’ll be some sale for Black Friday or Christmas.

To be fair the game isn’t made by Nintendo and 3rd party games go on sale more often

Feels even better being able to play it without motion controls (although they didn't bother me when I played it on the Wii, & that option is still there) Graphically it could look better and seemed up scaled but not bad at all, played it on handheld.

I’m buying a gift for a friend and he seems interested in playing Xenoblade. Which one should I buy for him?

Xenoblade chronicles definitive edition. Both are good but xenoblade chronicles 2 might be too "anime" for your friend. If that aint a problem you cant go wrong with either of them

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is the better game. The combat system is a million times better and that game is way more addicting.

Story wise I palpated XC2 before XC1 and it didn’t seem to matter which game is played first

Then you're good with both, i personally prefer xenoblade chronicles definitive edition but they're both great

XC1 is a self-contained story whereas XC2's story ties into XC1 loosely so if you're going to play both XC1 would def be better to play first.

If you're only gonna play one though XC2 should be fine to play on its own
