also Mario kart 8 is technically gonna be 7 years old this year, and the biggest gap was less than 7 years between 64 and double dash

MK8D is a top-seller and still hot on the Switch. I doubt we'll get Mario Kart 9 any time soon. Wii U owners will just have to stick with MK8D for a while if I had to guess.

Tbh battle mode in mk8d is the best battle mode ever, first time i had actual fun with that game mode in a mario kart game

A new game especially if they’re planning a new updated switch would sell an insane amount. More akin to how AC sold 25m in 6 months

5 million is still a lot for a 4 year old ported game, and the community is still VERY active. They're definitely working on a new one but they wont release it until 2nd half of 2022/2023

I wouldn’t say I’m hyped, I had it on Wii U and quite honestly at this time I don’t really need another Mario game. Already have Odyssey, NSMB Deluxe, and 3D All-Stars that are in rotation.

I’ll buy 3D World but I don’t think I’m in a rush to buy it on first day. It will be added to the collection once I finish more games.
