Would love to see a new IP. Xenoblade don’t really catch my attention.
Why if i may ask?
Why if i may ask?
I like the graphics and the world but I’m not big on JRPGs with turn based combat and a bunch of stats and leveling up and such. I have Xenoblade DE on Switch but only played for like an hour or so. I get bored of trying to learn a bunch of new things in a new IP and keeping track of stats and items and cluttered menus and such. Turn-based combat and having to keep track of stats and switching characters is a no for now. 😆

wait Chilla doesnt like RPG mechanics???
not even in Dragon Quest or Persona?
i can agree with some points, every time i play a Final Fantasy game i gotta relearn so much of the RPG mechanics but thats a good part of the exploration of RPGs for me - especially learning new stuff about stats or traits or skills that u didnt know before, there's a growth worth chasing in the grind that can also compliment the progression of the story
Switch is in a good spot for me PERSONALLY. Im getting everything that caters to me. Mario 3D world was a blast and left me with an itch Crash 4 will scratch, cool visual novels coming soon, Story of Seasons and Monster Hunter this month im super hype for. A lot of JRPGS dropping soon. Summer gonna bang for me with Rune Factory 5 and Disgaea. Hopefully Nocturne soon, SMTV this year, praying for Digimon Survive. I actually really dont care about 1st party lol.

I see, jrpg definitely aint easy to get into. For me personally xenoblade chronicles 1 (havent played x and 2 yet) has such a great story and world plus i love turn based jrpgs so it was a truly great game for me, but i see why you wasnt thst much into it. From what we know their new ip is supposed to be a fantasy action rpg so it may be more of your thing!

Yeah same, i get why some are disappointed with switch lineup but im eating good so im loving it
Monolith are such a great, talented studio, from their own IPs to the help they give nintendo, love their work so much

That last sentence is key. Normally all I care about is 1st Party with Nintendo but this year opening my mind to 3rd party games more. The only new 1st party game I’m definitely getting this year so far is Super Rush. Everything else is 3rd party, it’s making the Switch even more attractive as a console because we know the 1st party games are coming. To the point that I’m not even worried about a next gen console right now.
No more heroes 3, smt V, mh rise, mh stories 2, resident evil outrage if its called like that, bravely default 2, who knows what else, 2021 full of dope 3rd parties for switch

Nah not really my ting. I've tried but man I usually just get bored of it really fast or find it to be too much to keep up with. One of my biggest turn-offs in games is having too many stats and characters to keep track of and turn-based combat that takes too doggone long and interrupt my flow
Only RPGs I've gotten into over the years are Pokémon, RuneScape, Paper Mario if that counts. JRPGs never did it for me. The graphics and worlds and story may be attractive but the rest of the grind just kills my vibe most of the time
I wish it wasn't so because some of the games I really do like the look of, but the things I mentioned above turn me off.

People who aren’t in the niche or JRPG market k definitely feel for but I am absolutely feasting lol

Don’t get me wrong I love Nintendo first party games but I’m not absolutely In NEED for anything right now I’m really just chilling. 3rd party has been carrying me and that’s not factoring in a s*** load of 1st party stuff like Luigi’s mansion just waiting for me to play it right now

I’m in the same boat, I have so many 1st Party games I need to finish that I’m actually glad there isn’t more coming right now. LM3 being one of them lol
Skyward Sword gonna sell more than all of the other 2021 games except New Pokemon Snap
Too bad it'll be the worst one quality wose tho.
Also, dont count MH out. 10mill+ with World & Nintendo with the 3ds is what breathed new life into the series

U would probably enjoy Xeno from the Wii U a bit more then.
Wish they would port that one over along with Star Fox U. It's the only last two big Wii U games left that arent on Switch.

MH Rise is not nearly the same level of gameplay as MH World with the more open world and more RPG elements and more of a "story" if you will
but i see you still, Rise will sell a lot
however Skyward Sword is not bad in quality at all, literally all most people wanted was the same game without forced gyro / motion controls

Xenoblade Chronicles X is amazing
Xenoblade Chronicles X is the only xeno game i enjoy
theyre all good, but yeah X is the most mature and less japanese manga style
X could be its own franchise and compete with Final Fantasy full on tbh

Mh rise could sell something like 8 million in japan alone

You'd be surprised how big MH is man, especially in Japan. Japan is hugely ecstatic that its back on a portable console too, since thats what they prefer.
Japan actually disliked World for not being portable, but western loves it. MH was also the main thing carrying the PSP thanks to Japan with millions upon millions. Its gigantic, but the west only recaught on with World, while its one of Japan's most beloved & most supported series period.
Also, Skyward isnt a bad game, but its def the weakest of the 3D Zeldas. Its linearity, overly hand holdy ness, strange gameplay design here n there etc. Its usually ranked as the lowest too, it goes beyond motion. Even places that gave it high praise when it first came out have done retrospectives & admitted they were caught up in Zelda hype.
If it didnt have a Zelda name or skin, it would have been seen as an average game since its release imo.
Not a bad game tho.

The only good thing about SS is the dungeons. It has the worst map/open world from a 3D Zelda by far.

It has a weird mix of good & bad bosses too.
I respect it tho if people still enjoy it & i dont think its horrible, just as a game itself to me, its def the worst of the 3D zeldas & just decent to good.

Twilight princess map is empty.
