Was hoping for a bit longer than 40 minutes but its still hype AF. 13 days boys and girls.
Note how they specifically wrote "nintendo switch SOFTWARE".
Make your conclusions....

40 minutes is more than usual for directs, the february direct was the longest in a long ass time and it had some filler tbh. Quality over quantity

Another Mario strikers pls
ahhhh, i get how theyll do it now
no launch titles, much like Xbox with the Series consoles
theyll start sell the new console this year but their focus is still on gaming across the ecosystem rather than "look what u can play on the new console"
but that's something thatll come with 2022
it wont REALLY matter having a Switch Pro until 2022
ill bet all the NEW games this year will still work great on the current model and Nintendo will make sure to repeat that, as 80m Switch owners could be thrown off
Yeah they def wont leave 85 million people behind so you dont have to worry about that. At worst the pro is going to get some 3rd parties that wouldnt be able to run on the og switch
This
The only games that will probably be Pro exclusive are form 3rd parties

Agreed
I think most will be lukewarm when the “pro” in announced
Imagine a 2d metroid announcement with an in depth look at treehouse
Imagine they actually showed the first metroid game they announced!!

i agree but we're comparing
Nintendo's first party AAA first person shooter that was rebooted 2 years into development
vs
a 2D Metroid outsourced and finished within the last 2 years

Samus isn’t real anymore

Too soon, got rebooted 2 years ago and we went through a pandemic for a year, there's no chance they have anything to show. A 2d metroid is way more likely to be there since the last one released in 2017
Switch successor will be out 2023-24 so I’m debating if I should upgrade or not. I’m still on launch day switch

Nintendo learned their lesson from Wii U
bro its been 4 years since the switch dropped
honestly been a great run so far
And it still feels we are in the cycles prime

if the upgrade model can handle a solid 4K30 docked with a lower res 60fps mode and the handheld feels nice enough in quality i'd expect another 4-5 years tbh
if the number of Switch owners can reach 120m after the upgraded model then they'll wanna keep selling software for it at a consistent rate because a lot of gaming a***ysts and industry journalists didn't even think it would reach 60m sales total lmao but that's because the Wii U sold less than 14m units to this date
i see at least 4 years of 4K30 as Nintendo's standard and constant and consistent software sales until 2025-2026 when Nintendo's new console releases, most likely being another upgrade though this time with exclusive games, called the Switch 2 and would have full BC running 4K120 docked, 1440p 60fps handheld etc

You may have a point there, Nintendo also said there won’t be a true successor for Switch in the foreseeable future. It’s going to be a while until we see a new console.

Do it. Let’s be real, in a year, half the games gonna run like s*** on OG switch.
Already starting to see performance issues with a lot of games now
