you're lucky to even get new RPG style "mainline" Pokemon games to begin with - the franchise makes a lot of money doing anything they want not because of the RPG games but because of Pokemon itself..

A game like the Witcher 3, DLC is fine because the game is so complete.

A game like Sword/Shied you can tell it was rushed and incomplete to sell us DLC later. The game is barebones so DLC stings.

I hate people that are like “You can never complain. You must blindly support everything a corporation does. You must bend over backwards for a company and take it in the behind because “they put work into it”. Companies can do no wrong and you can’t call them out for it!!!!!”

how tho lol why should have any of this been in the game to begin with? This is content completely separate from the original region and story.

For one the 200 Pokémon should have been in base game. Secondly this game has no post-game story. This extra content feels like what is normally in the post-game of a base game Pokémon.

Stop bending over backwards for Gamefreak and Nintendo. They can do wrong and we can call them out for it.

There was no promise of a national dex as they made this clear before the game even dropped.

They put 400 in the base game. No pokemon game allows you to catch every pokemon in the wild. You have to trade over from previous games, which not every one has access to.

It's on a new console generation. Obviously them cutting the dex means they will add more pokemon through dlc and newer games.

As people assume they will do diamond and pearl remakes, we will get all of gen 4 and probably more. This was pretty clear from the start they want people to get excited when dlc or a new game has their favorite pokemon theyve been waiting for.

If this is not an idea you subscribe to just dont purchase the game or dlc. Just because you can't rationalize an idea doesn't mean other people can't.

i knew all along we'd get more pokemon later, and they are bonus with some new story AND new pokemon AND new characters AND new areas

how long do u think it'll take to make all the remaining pokemon AND at LEAST half of their animations?

now take in - GameFreak admitted they ran outta time to even finished the world, Nintendo pushed it and we still got a pretty great release that will only expand further and further with more DLC and sequels

and you'd rather just pout and give up completely

Luigi’s Mansion 3 had more content than any other previous Luigi Mansion and felt like a complete LM game with no content.

SwSh has less content than previous Pokémon entries and feels like an incomplete game with cut content.

Length of the game does not matter.

Gen 7:
$40 for SM
$40 for USUM
$5/Yr for Bank

Gen 8:
$60 for SwSh
$30 for SwSh Expansion Pass
$20/Yr for Nintendo Online
Whatever Home ends up costing

And SwSh have LESS content than USUM. Less postgame (we'll see how much content the DLCs have) and less Pokemon.

Even if you made SWSH $40 it would still be more expensive. Even if you sold two Versions of SWSH it would be more expensive. And the amount on content they gave us is not worth the cost.

I never said the game was bad, the DLC is a joke that I will not support. I gave the game an 8/10, which was probably a generous rating.

It had lots of issues but I had a lot of fun.

And yes, you are bending over backwards for Gamefreak if you don’t see a single problem with this DLC.

it doesn't feel like an "incomplete" game though, there's an intro, a body and a grand finale - do you know how plot structure works?

it just feels short in comparison with games like Dragon Quest

but literally ALL of the Pokemon games felt short EXCEPT for Gen 2 because you could travel back to Kanto and some things were rearranged
