He actually hasn't. His creative peak was RD and everything since then has been firmly within his comfort zone.
Jay Z doesn't take any creative risks, and I'll bet money that he has a focus group of the appropriate demographics before every album release

Bobby_96I'm not the biggest Jay fan but he actually has gotten slightly underrated as of lately.
Now you got tons of young people saying he'd lose a Verzuz to anyone, including Ross. And you have people claiming he's only relevant because of Ye/Beyonce or his wealth.
I clown Hov sometimes but he's still a great rapper with an above average catalog. He's been overrated as an emcee for quite some time but now young niggas are downplaying his impact.
When he's in his bag, he's top 3 best to ever touch a mic.
The issue is he CONSTANTLY dumbs s*** down for some strange reason, probably because he knows his stans will eat it up.
Nas dont do that, and Em dont do that

the man bars out like none other when hes at a peak
and id say he stepped out his comfort zone with his neptunes stuff. Not everyone has to be a kanye and radically alter their sound
