A hit being organic has nothing to do with your take that hits are only a result of an artist’s popularity. And if Bauuer having no hits after Harlem Shake adds to your point, why the heck do popular artists have singles that flop?

Different factors. What’s trending, what other big artist are releasing around the same time, the fact that it’s not as good as the record that came before it.
Doesn’t change the fact that Drake can release almost any song and it’s a hit. That’s a testimony to his popularity that necessarily the song.
That f***ing AI song with Drake and the weekend will literally send an arena crazy purely because it sounds like Drake really made it.
