"My position is to vote against Trump. In our two-party system, there is a technical fact that if you want to vote against Trump, you have to push the lever for the Democrats. If you don't push the lever for the Democrats, you are assisting Trump. We can argue about a lot of things, but not arithmetic. You have a choice on Nov. 3. Do I vote against Trump or help Trump?

It is a simple choice. He's the worst malignancy ever to appear in our political system. He is extremely dangerous.

All of this for the left shouldn't even be discussed. It takes a few minutes."

Interesting and surprisingly based point from Chomsky

If you really want third-parties to have power in the US, voting for Dem candidates in primaries that support ranked-choice voting like in Maine is probably the best route to do that.

Or maybe Chomsky is just another establishment shill

however I think the only "it should take minutes" part is wrong some of the lines you see are ridiculous and insane amount of voter suppression is occurring

I'm ngl I don't embrace welcoming Pol Pot apologists like Chomsky into the fold, but we're a big tent here and he brings up some valid points

Oh wait you a Trumper Trumper, yeah I'm out

Yeah let me vote for the party that wants to disarm the working class, pushes identity politics to create factions within the working class, and promotes mass immigration to suppress the wages of the working class. The lie of Democrats being 'the lesser of the two evils' is something of a laughable joke -- both parties are equally garbage, and exist only to change the position that the government and its moneyed interests are f***ing you in.

I like Chomsky's a***yses on many issues, but he's achieved literally nothing on any political level except some insightful commentary and witty critiques here and there. The idea that we will achieve an anarchist-commune if we just peacefully concede to Democrats enough is deserves only a

About half the country does not vote.

Have more respect for those who don’t vote than those leftists who will vote for Howie Hawkins

They actually made a full on effort to show how privileged they are and how much they only care about themselves

Ppl who don’t vote are just lazy/uninformed

'Identity politics' just means promoting civil rights and telling people to stop committing hate crimes

Reasonable gun control is good, but idc too much about it. It means a lot to a lot of women though, so I respect it

Immigration is actually great for the economy and needed to offset baby boomers retiring here, and will eventually benefit everyone.
