Lmao a while ago I was talkin music with this dude who claimed frank ocean was one of his fav artists, so I asked him "whats ur fav track off blonde?" "Hum I havent rlly listened to that one tbh. Channel orange thoo!" A lot of niggas rlly be fake stanning out here

This is a big thing as well. But I blame social media and Stan culture for that. A lot of people don’t really be hip but they play that role to fit in cause stans never let people live. You see how people react when someone has a top 10 that’s not considered the norm. A lot of the time people put on a front to avoid getting slandered.

khalid's music is much more accessible lmfao what a dumbass!

lol stop it. I'm talking about the soul songs he made before he started doing garbage edm s***.

Like the ones he made in 2015. Those weren't more accessible than Frank songs. People used to refer to him as boring all the time, yet he still had 20+ million monthly listeners unlike Frank.

I don’t care at all . Everyone welcome to their opinion. Comparing frank to a soundcloud rapper because it took him a while to go platinum is edgy

Saying no one listens to blank artist with his limited scope is just edgy

He wants attention and we give it to him

according to the data he just isn't as popular as most of y'all think he is. given the fact that everyone knows who he is, he should be a 15 million monthly listeners tier artist at bare minimum.

blaming his lack of listeners on the type of songs he makes is a cop out too, because Miguel, Khalid & 6LACK been doing 15 million for the longest time and none of those guys make typical club bangers.

just answer the question in the op or go away if you dont want to have this conversation

Frank isn’t as commercial as any of those you list and is now indie

I think it's also if you listen to Frank Ocean you're probably a die-hard who's gonna put him in your top 5, so those people are constantly talking about him. Someone like 6lack doesn't have the same dedication so maybe more people are lowkey listening to him in playlists and s***, but they aren't going to bat for him like that.

Most Frank stans are on Apple Music.

  • No ones trying to revisit the feelings Blonde gave them cuz we all lost our lovers .

yeah makes sense. i can see how having die-hard stans can make an artist appear bigger than they actually are. playboi carti stans are so loud and present on instagram, you'd think he's the biggest rapper in the world or sumthing

Tfw it took people I know 2 years to actually come around to loving Blonde.

Also many artists have passive listeners that contribute to playlist numbers and song radios. Especially on Spotify. If something sounds strange or foreign it will take longer for them to come around. On first listen a lot of people went "Where tf are the drums?". And came back later after they realized Frank isn't going to keep dropping every year and they have to make due

who cares how many people listen to an artist? if the music is good and you enjoy it that's all that matters. plus not all frank's music is available on streaming services.

The more I think of it, franks fanbase is just an accepted Russ. Somehow Russ gets all these plays but I've never seen or heard Russ being played by a human ever
