Always alternated between short and long hair for me since middle school to today
I do prefer long tho and currently I'm in my longest era of long hair, I've trained my hair to lay down too while still keeping curls n nap for the first time ever with minimal hair product and it goes down to my shoulders, n i also do singles braids that are now long af that i usually tie the back half into a bun or tail
I've done short fades, longer fades, one solid number all around, small to medium fros, cornrows, cornrow art styles like fishbones and sunrises, n box and singles braids at different thickness
They've all worked fine irl for me job or women
I have a curly mullet. I get a lot compliments on it. Took me about a year to get to a cool length after I basically shaved my head and started growing my hair out
My advice to anyone wanting to grow out their hair is start over from scratch and and do it in the winter. You'll be able to get away with rocking beanies while your hair is growing. It's like 6 months of awkward stage
Welsh and a burst fade
been rocking a buzz cut and went from 0 hoes to -60
drogon is done
I teach high school and seriously 80% of white boys have fades of some sort. It was tough to learn their names because they all look the same. And the homogeneity felt bizarre compared to when I was in high school.
broccoli heads
i like mullets but i don’t like getting them with a fade because my face is too rounded and full
i dont think ive ever had a fade
maybe when i was a child .
i dont have long hair anymore and never considered getting a fade. it's on the shorter side now but still have plenty of hair. i think it's basically a wolf cut?
my cousin always got fade and it made me disinterested in them cause he'd be at the barber every 2 f***in weeks
Ngl I stopped getting fades like a few years back. I fw the mullet (which tbh I always fw the Dallas Shag cut and was kinda what I was going for) but I cut it myself, I actually was in the bathroom cutting for like 3 hours yesterday.
I basically almost have a skullet now which I think will be the next thing. But it’s not faded except for slightly above the sideburns cuz I accidentally cut a bit line over my ear. Left the sideburns longer with a little curl to them. Trimmed the back up a little bit to get the blonde tips outta here from when I dyed my s*** a year ago.
Mullets with the fade looks crazy to me tho. Like you’re going from skin and trying to blend into like actual full length hair
S*** just ends up looking like a broccoli Mohawk
Also that big hair dryer or w/e they use to curl up the hair is so goofy looking plus his looks like you got a perm
They look okay with fades, the problem with these two guys is they don’t have interesting enough facial features or enough facial hair to be rocking a cut like that
The first homie looks like an imaginary friend and the white kid u can tell just got that hairstyle cause his friends have it lol
Just comes down to what fits ur facial structure and head
On the other hand, sometimes I see folks with a full head of hair and it just makes their head look massive and they’d benefit from a trim and a fade. Case by case
Non "blacks"
Surreal to drive past people from my high school and see they got braids/dreads and s*** now. When I was at that school, I got in trouble for having a 1 on the sides, 2 on top fade
Only reason I cut my dreads in 2021 after 5 years was because I was about to start going for interviews and that s*** still not completely accepted in the legal industry
Ill never understand the hate on dreads seems like supression of black ppl
