That song was fire
My only critique is NoName will do some s*** that directly goes against her morals and then call herself out for it
And im just wondering if shes going to continue to do that bc idk if just calling yourself a hypocrite in a bar is gonna get u out of the hot seat every time
But still this album is FANTASTIC and easily her best
Yeah that's my issue w that song tbh
Only complaint I have besides the misguided Jay Elec verse is that the album relies a bit too heavily on repetitive hooks, especially for such a short album. I feel like 30% of the record is made up of really wordy hooks that don't add anything melodically.
Her pen game and production choices are still great.
i love that this album is evoking such polar opposite opinions...
like, a lot of people calling it a 10/10, while other people so focused on minor details like name drops and jay elect presence on the album
i'm a white brazilian man, so i cannot speak about exactly what she's trying to portray on this album, but to me it sounds like a celebration of black people and all the different ways of thinking that people have
it's a really well produced album, and her voice is immaculate as always
there's a lot of things that i probably won't ever understand, but what i can say is that it's an amazing album by one of the most unique, talented black women of the 21st century
it's a 9/10 for me, btw

Who invented the voyeur?
Fascinated with mourning, they hope the trauma destroy her
Why everybody love a good sad song?
A dark album, like
Tell me that your homie dead, your mama dead
Your brother bled along the street
The corner where the Walgreens and White Castle is
Ooh-wee, yeah we know that you miss him
And if you sing about his sister, then we buyin' a ticket for real
Front row, center, still gratitude, she love 'em
But she can't tell if it's genuine or just consumption
A***yze the gumption, monopolize the landscape
She just another artist selling trauma to her fanbase
they too focused on jay

which I still think was an intentional decision to alienate her white fans that only wanted innocent "telefone" type raps from her.
this album cover makes a whole lotta sense.
we gon' have a conversation about Jay one day bro. lol. One day.
Let's do it rn

This a Kendrick diss and she’s right

Lowkey, that "sing about his sister" had me thinking it was kinda a jab at him too

Yeah that line confirmed it for me

You and @Oblivion99 Halo Reaching that whole verse is about herself
“And if you sing about it sister than we buying a ticket for real” going right into her talking about the audience reception to her music makes way more sense than a random jab at something kendrick hasnt talked about since u.
the wait is over for all 3
Wow I love Saba but this run of albums shows NoName is really the best of the 3
the wait is over for all 3
Proof this the perfect time for a Ghetto Sage album

It can't be both ?
I don't think it's a diss as she shooting shots at his head, but just addressing the reality of the situation on "Why everybody love a good sad song? A dark album" when it comes to black artists, and it was a slick reference to him
It may not be what she's going for but I don't think it's a huge reach when a few songs later she says "wrote a little bit like kenny, you'll have a life worth livin"

all this makes more sense that it's dissing noname because...telefone was a dark ass album (hyperbolic but all things considered) lmao.
i'm just not calling this Sundial: The Kendrick Lamar album lol.
Yeah that's my issue w that song tbh

Niggas can't have critiques anymore lol
Niggas can't have critiques anymore lol
What do you suggest as an alternative though because your critique is that she MIGHT make the same mistake again? So she’s not allowed to be self aware? She’s fallible and not allowed to acknowledge that or you wont like it? I just don’t under how it holds up as a critique.
