hes lying
I just looked it up. There's definitely ways to access this, Disney+ has made deals with TV channels and whatnot
yeah but when she gets called out on something she owns up to it and learns from it. She won't deny it if you bring that up to her
This is one of the things I love most about her.
Beyonce and Hov has visited and supported many African countries over the past two decades, for philanthropic reasons and casually ...
And Beyonce is creole and the women in her family have passed down many traditionally customs from the continent in terms of spirituality.. she was even planning a Fela Kuti inspired album way back when she was doing “4”
You crackers shouldn’t speak on what you’re not apart of, and you negroids should try to get in tune with where your bloodline is originally from as welll instead of judging other people for how they’re doing it. Atleast Beyonce has given many African countries a platform and the spotlight, and paid everyone out of pocket + royalties for their contributions.
How many of your favorite rap artists can do the same?

There is a difference between genuinely trying to reconnect with African culture and using African imagery to sell your product.
It’s an important conversation, one that we’re having constantly. But when you position that conversation around one project, and you deliberately do it on a day you know people are enjoying it. That’s reads as opportunistic and disingenuous.
African aesthetic" is an erasure of the creatives involved who directed their respective cultures. . It’s a whole continent with 54 countries and each of those countries different tribes with different cultures. There is no such thing as african aesthetics. black artist creates work with 100s of AFRICAN artists, empowers them (not only financially), allows Thousands more to feel seen out of her own pocket leveraging a deal to allow her to express a story through the lens of those that underrepresented after her own project flopped. She alienated her biggest consumer market and you chalk it up to 'image and 'profit/personal gain' ??
Beyoncé is not above critique. No one is. Let's be clear on that. I do, however, feel that a lot of the expectations being placed on her and her art are misplaced, inconsistent, unrealistic, and conveniently unapplied to anybody else.
Make it clear that Bey is paying out of pocket for this project so she can mitigate the control Disney would have. Beyonce has been using her capital from her work to generate and sign checks through Parkwood for over a decade.
Every Noname thread is just an excuse for people to project their anger towards (black) women it seems. Some of y’all don’t even try to hide it. It’s sad.
With that said looking at twitter something is becoming very clear to me.
People were stanning and all in her corner when they could use her to vilify black men. I noticed the same people fall back when they realized that wasn’t what she was trying to do or going for. the same people angry and calling her a bitter twitter activist because she calls out Beyoncé.
People only like to back people up when it falls in line with their agenda it seems. Noname does so much good and is just trying to educate herself, and get other people to do the same. People were supportive of that and glorifying her for all of a week before turning a complete 180 on her because they have an Idol worshiping problem in regard to Beyoncé. I’m not too educated on the topic she’s addressing to say if she’s right or wrong calling her out but it makes you realize how hypocritical this internet s*** can be
People switched on her because with every post she sounds more and more bitter and negative than the last. PLEASE explain to me how supporting Beyoncé for making pro-African music is a bad thing? Just because she makes money off of it? Beyoncé could be putting out safe pop music and making even more money, but she’s not. At this point Noname just sounds jaded that she did not have a successful music career herself so she comes at other artists

Noname’s critiques would be valid if they were not exclusively aimed at Beyoncé while she supports other black men and women doing the same thing. She’s not criticizing capitalism and exploitation.. She doesn't like Beyoncé and is appealing to think piece Twitter to gain fame
It's interesting seeing Noname ridicule Beyonce as if she herself does not benefit from this capitalist society. If she were to release a film or a book, she'd be anticipating a profit.
It really sounds like complaints and nit picking tropes used to hide her deep-rooted issues with Beyoncé hidden under the same, tired critiques triggered by people’s praise and adoration of her. Same complex. Different day.

The last part of this post is me saying I’m not educated on the topic enough to say if she’s right or wrong. Of all the bitter s*** on twitter daily basis nothing and I mean nothing Noname has said has reached the headassery that twitter reaches with the bs. I see her call out various people all the time too. Seems like people just want to hyper focus on her falling out Beyoncé and act like she hasn’t been calling out others.

“ and act like she hasn’t been calling out others.” - Didn’t Rihanna just cash in on her sold out skin care line with black ppl as the focus? I believe it was released yesterday as well? ..crickets! Yet when Beyonce dropped her Ivy Park line in late January she started the capitalist crusade agaibst her solely..
Didn’t she shame her fans for not buying her music/concert tickets when she makes ‘black art for black women and uplifts them and their stories when no one else will’ ..where’s the consistency?

Is she expected to call out EVERY instance of someone profiting from capitalism? This sounds no different than white guys who search up random news articles of crimes happening to white people asking where the outrage is when black people bring up racists killing blacks. I believe the Rihanna situation & Beyonce are visably different too. Rihanna is selling a product thats good for the enviornment, she isn't using another culture to benefit from it. Americans live in a capatalist society. No matter how much ANYONE preaches socialism until we get to a place where certain behaviors can be practiced capitalism is required to survive. I dont see that being hypocritical at all. If what i'm understanding is correct Beyonce is using Africa as an aesthetic to increase her capital meanwhile not generally caring about or doing anything for the same people she's profiting from. Again Im not knowledgeable about this AT ALL so im speaking from how i'm interpreting this.Noname benefits from capitalisim but she's doing what she can with her limited resources. Someone like Beyonce who's resources aren't limited at all can be doing a lot more, and that goes for ANYONE in the same position as her financially. Especially if its at the expense of exploiting others. There is no route to being a billionare without exploting someone else. Thats a point I can agree with.

Beyonce is literally African. We’re all African. This is a reach even for Noname. She’s fell into the conscious rappers need for a persona and is just being a contrarian
Beyoncé does stuff like this but she would never redistribute her wealth
May the fakes expose themselves
Seems like all she's saying is that she hopes all of the luxury and leisure of wealthy black Americans, that now find it trendy invoke black African trends in their lookbooks, can one day be experienced by the same African people that it's inspired by.
How is this even offensive or an attack on Beyonce specifically

Noname was on twitter crying about people not going to her concerts. Now she’s charging people for a book club and criticizing a black woman who is successful at doing what she has failed to do. Do you know what Noname is charging for her book club?
That rihanna cop-out "good for the environment is embarrasing"
You don't have to call out every instance but Ryan Coogler's Black Panther 2 and Kendrick Lamar's contributing soundtrack was just last year.. again crickets? She generally only saves this energy for Beyonce and others like J Cole that actual put the work it behind the scenes.
-Igh..I'm done. If you're not going to do your research and actually look at all the leg work and philanthropy and general effort that Beyonce has made that ties in to her desire to express black art in this way, there's no need to converse any further.
honestly it only bothers me cuz she barely be in any african country, i think she visited like 4 in a 20 year span and they were all for events, the love doesn’t seem genuine when it’s only shown when she’s making money
nobody in africa, a continent with 50+ countries can even watch the movie
The Beygood fellowship project
Partnering with Unicef to bring water to Africa
Giving African artists opportunities to shine and be put on a global stage when she don't have to
If you say so
And you better get a firestick or something like the rest of us who don't have Disney+.
