    Still gotta watch the OG Nosferatu tbh but I’ve done Eggers filmography. I’m ready for him to dethrone The Lighthouse

    It's not a bad place to start at all, has some seriously iconic moments and packs an almost overwhelming level of foreboding atmosphere. It was on Murnau's next film, The Last Laugh, that he achieved his "camera unchained" technique that immediately gave silent cinema a much needed feeling of motion, dimension and immediacy though.

    The silent film I usually recommend first is Buster Keaton's Sherlock Jr which packs more charm, wonder and excitement into 45 minutes than most films can muster after 2 hours.

    I made a Best Of The 1920's recently;
