In the beginning she was depressed and called out for anything to comfort her. that's when nosferatu and her built a psychic link.

Instead of love, he fed her torture until her now present husband came into her life.

nosferatu was still drawn to ellen and it was as if fate allowed the husband to be the Glue ( real estate agent ) that can get him closer to her.

at the end she called him over because she knew that would let his guard down.
