the bill jordan peterson talked about including points about taking legal action against someone misgendering a person, which he used to claim that he is allowed to misgender a person if he believes the 'motivation' against their pronouns isn't good enough. which negatively affected a generation of trans/queer people and spread a s***ton of misinformation

because all the bill did was put trans people on the protected classes list, and there was (OBVIOUSLY) no talk about legal action for misgendering, but jordan peterson fans are stupid enough to not check on that and spread hatred to certain groups for years, but as soon as someone points out how awful of a person he is they want to lead with love

and him misrepresenting this very clear bill is how he got to the fanbase he now has. embarrassing.

I know what bill C-16 is. Jordan Peterson never misgendered anyone as a teacher, in his practice or in public life.

The debate has much less to do with transgendered individuals & their identities and has all to do with totalitarian compelled speech laws... ones very unique of its kind.

If gender is an entire spectrum open to interpretation then how can you implement laws when the terms of the language are brand new and not concrete? In fact the language and terms are changing and developing over time.

Setting laws over undefined terms creates a very dangerous precedent which can be used in many misguided and unfair ways.

Also Canada is different than the US and it wasn’t fear mongering as we saw what happened only months later during the Lindsey Shepherd debacle.

I understand and respect the spirit of how you guys are going about trying to protect people’s identity but falsely portraying the situation, the wording and the narrative to do so will only draw more and more people against you.

You will not get a hot heated angry response from me, but I bet a ton of people you know secretly resent you for these blanket statement styled opinions and don’t have the energy to combat them or the balls to put their social standing on the line to call bullshit.

its not a speech law though, so you dont know what the bill was lol. he intentionally misrepresented the law to keep trans people from receiving legal protections, the end.

your long-winded response was unnecessary, all you had to say is "im a fanboy of a self-help nutcase who hates women and floats anti-semitic conspiracy theories", wouldve sufficed.

Damn i was rooting for aliens to be reasonable, but he's letting his own self help stan JP. I'm happy JP helped you mane, but you don't even know the full extent of what JP has said and what he's switched up according to the posts above laying out even more detail. You're literally denying facts of what has happened in history. Unless you can' see that, then this thread basically has ran it's course
