He can’t drop it today and if he did we’d all f***in love it because it’s the same f***in album
No you wouldn’t
I fw this take!
That beat is just undeniable, one of the greatest instrumentals I ever heard

I know bro. S*** has me ascending every listen

You might but it would be trashed by the overall consensus. Drake could drop (insert masterpiece album here) tomorrow and it’ll be panned

I mean he’ll have to drop a masterpiece for that theory to be tested
And he hasn’t done that since 2013

Had a photo from each one of these shoots as my phone wallpaper for a period of time
Thought we hit peak and then IYRTITL muscle gain happened
If he dropped NWTS today, no one would praise its subject matter, people would still write it off as the same
every drake album of my life aside from If You’re Reading This was divisive upon release
I don’t know what it is about the end part of connect but back in 2013 and now in 2025 it is just so….palpable? So appropriate?? I get lost in it today just as I did 12 years ago and it feels just as right
classic
Uncs used to argue this wasn’t
This same kid went on to produce Liability, Hours in Silence, Circadian Rhythm, 7969 & Something About You
his best album by far. it's not close. complete project from top to bottom, concise, consistent sound. just beautiful project unlike the random playlist albums he been putting out for like 8 years

that's insane.
Like you said a few posts back too, I think the main thing is just the lack of 40’s presence nowadays.
You go back and listen to NWTS in full right now, and you can just hear 40’s direction and guidance all over the project musically.
That same musicianship just doesn’t exist in modern Drake music (which is another reason I think he’s become so reliant on beat switches nowadays)
This is what it all boils down to when it comes to making albums that feel like an experience. 40. We need him back for one more.
i still remember yt-mp3-ing Just Hold On We're Going Home and adding it to my iPhone 4S in high school
ran that song back like almost every day on the school bus, especially on the ride back

But when I say this was his best album and it went downhill after views they will call you hater smh
