Have you realized that Man Alive > The OOZ?
OOZ has crazy highs but too much filler, man alive is more leveled out, concise and just sounds matured. Thoughts?
Man Alive is a front to back play. The dream is a skip technically but I can appreciate its place in the track list
Also Energy Fleets makes me want to actually kill myself instead of putting me in an aesthetic suicidal mood so I’d rather listen to the OOZ
Why?
it’s a very good album don’t get me wrong but there’s just not the same as his other stuff tbh. the ooz caught something different and it feels way more relatable to me like how he’d just start yelling on a song feeling pissed off as hell.
you don’t really get that on the new one. the more toned down sounds make me miss all the imperfections of his older stuff how he never tried to sing perfectly he just sang what’s in his heart and didn’t give a f***.

I get what you’re saying here for sure. You and @americana got a point with the feeling of OOZ
Man Alive definitely feels quieter, like a come down almost. I think I fw it more cause that’s just more relatable for me. But damn OOZ is one of a kind. Archy is really our goat
I love the first 4 tracks of man alive, really would like him to develop that sound even more into a full album
Maybe the refinement of the sound that was a bit more free on the ooz kinda dimmed the charm of Man alive for me regardless of it still being great

This. The Ooz just has some magical, mercurial charm to it
Why isn’t a new place 2 drown counted in his discog
people don’t even know about that album that’s why but that’s top 2 archy
Can't tell you how many times I've cried to Man Alive. One time I was at work listening to it and energy fleets came on and I instantly just started sheding tears. I've never had that happen before. The whole album hits me deeply. It's one of my favorite albums of all time. I love the acoustic "Hey World" version of the album too. I feel like he perfectly encapsulated sadness and depression into this album.
Wow listened to this once back when it came out, thought it was awesome but completely forgot about it. Gonna listen now again, thanks op!
both r separate moods
cant compare just 2 diff bodies of work but both in the same universe u dig..
