As someone who doesn’t like the two party system, and usually supports 3rd parties / the candidate the DNC normally doesn’t pick (Bernie in 2016, Yang in 2020). this makes me happy.

Hopefully it shows the DNC that they can’t just pander and virtue signal to get votes anymore.

I really think the only reason Biden won was because of Coronavirus.

The fact that as unfit of a president as Trump is, and the election was still so close, should tell you all you need to know about how underwhelming Biden is.

To most people the democratic party is seen as a party of the coastal elite focused on cultural issues and not the everyday working class. bernie (or even warren) would have been best candidates to break that belief

Trump actually did better in areas hit harder by COVID: npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/11/06/930897912/many-places-hard-hit-by-covid-19-leaned-more-toward-trump-in-2020-than-2016

Not sure how much it really hurt him, his approval ratings for his pandemic response and overall were always pretty close, pandemic response might have been a little bit lower

Republicans should split to get their populist racist crowd in one party and a more moderate one that brings in all the minorities that relate to christian values and fiscal conservatism

Not sure if it’s gonna happen as long as the current system keeps it artificially alive and wont push them to reforms simply because they dont need to, but demographics will one day force them to

Most black people are actually conservative or moderate despite how it seems on the internet. It's not surprising Trump's votes increased. Unfortunately anti intellectualism is incredibly popular in the black community.

Who else is beating Trump tho? Biden entered the race hella late once he saw no one in the field (sanders, warren) would be able to beat trump

  • Nov 11, 2020

I voted for yang in the primary. Best believe his plan would have gained more traction if the primaries had happened after covid hit instead of before

    wow thats interesting

perhaps its the rural areas that started to get hit harder more into the pandemic (and who never took it seriously in the first place)

edit: after reading through it, that seems to be the case. super telling though. you think they would’ve had issues with him and how he handled it

that would be interesting, dems split to center left and progressive, republicans split to center right and conservative

i know it sounds far fetched, but i believe that yang would have had a decent chance, at least with winning over some republicans.

every video i watched of yang there was always self proclaimed trump voters in there saying they would vote for him instead

ironically, i think the progressives wouldn’t of taken to yang instead of the right

Dems center to center right, and anything actual left will be destroyed everytime.

A lot of demos in the south are still conservative in values with religion on their side. Majority of repubs are riding with trump no matter what now. A minority of repubs are closer to the center now with how trump shifted the ideological game

Bloomberg would’ve been absolutely loathed by the far left. A billionaire with the personality of a towel coming in and buying his way to the nomination in an election cycle where income inequality is one of the most discussed issues?

    Yeah you would think

I think if you're far enough into the right-wing ecosystem, pretty much anything can be spun into something that supports Trump

Also definitely some reverse causation there, if the places were already leaning towards Trump that might cause them to take the virus less serious

and anecdotally, trump supporters don't wash their hands

He was lying tho, he did it as one of the last ditch efforts to stop bernie, plus tactically boost warren.
