Clb for me. This may be biased but i just expect a 35 year old to put some perspective into his music like his peers do instead of just making chart music.

Even then, this bout their latest albums. Also greats can drop mid. Although i don't think CLB is bad. Scorpion isnt either. Theres just too much mid in between the great tracks. He needs a good excec producer nowadays. Kanye same problem imo

True. Kendrick is a way more interesting person and artist. But maybe this just the type of music Drake makes. It was never that deep. Take Care lyrics very bland actually. But the whole atmosphere and sound is what makes that a classic

That’s a fair opinion and I’ve seen the criticism before.

For me personally, All the tracks I initially hated, I’ve been able to come back to and enjoy, like 305 to my city, or final fantasy.

Only exception being songs like happy ratchet birthday.

Overall tho his albums always check all the boxes for me regarding lyricism/word play, story telling, quotables, and vivid imagery.

But if you care more about thematically consistent albums with a concept or message I can see how he wouldn’t rank very highly
