I saw a topic where the OP says that Weeknd's new album has no repetition value, I thought to myself, nowadays, every album that drops I can only listen for 1 week and never return to it (saved in the library but not returning)...
I remember when Take Care, Yeezus, Magna Carta, NWTS, GKMC dropped, I listened for months and even today I hear them...
Are we tired of hearing more of same? Or are we sick of fast food music?! or am I the one who is stuck in 2010-2015?!

you need to spend more time with albums,
revist some that you enjoyed even just a little

I think it's also expansion of musical tastes. for albums that I would play for months it was mostly when I only really listened to a few artists heavy. when there's so much other music it becomes harder to play the same album for months

Idk maybe we’re just waiting for that next big album like the ones u mentioned in OP
Or we really have just desensitised ourselves to the point where no album has staying power anymore

the only thing preventing you from listening to current albums is you not pressing play
albums from 2010 aren't magically more or less replayable (a subjective metric) than albums nowadays
You're right, so much garbage out there that it's hard to filter the good artists out. It all just comes and goes so fast now.
Blame the audience though, lotta rap "fans" are just casuals that have the attention span of 5 year olds.

I also have this expensive thought, however, there have always been great releases almost every week and even then certain albums we listened to for months and months, nowadays, I believe everyone listens for a week and it's over, as I said,

i think streaming era makes us overthink how to listen to music sometimes. try not to overthink, and know there's no point in trying to keep up with everything. thorough listens >>>> surface one listens then moving on

For real maine, I believe that everything is very polluted, and we are always listening more of the same talk, nothing different ...

I've grown some attachment with a fair amount of albums released this year. Just gotta find those albums that fit you.
i get over attached to albums then use those as watermarks to which i compare new albums , and its a bad habit
