NTS Radio is an online radio station and media platform based in the Hackney area of London, England.

Every day they have guest DJs come and put there mixes out for the world. I’ve discovered some incredible hidden gems through one-off mixes and recurring shows such as Geologist’s O’Brien System.

Today they are running an all-day charity event for foodbanking.org with a mix of guest DJs; Weyes Blood, Duckwrth, Yves Tumor, Jorja Smith, Erykah Badu, Standing on the Corner, Jonah Hill and more.

Has anyone tuned into this? They have apps on iOS and Android as well.

I interned for Tiffany Calver - she does BBC now but started off doing shows (booked Father loads of times), ended up on OVO Sound and she went viral from there.

She was looking for someone to do her show arts and source instrumentals for her and I wanted some plugging in w/ promoters so I applied. It was short lived but cool experience.

The problem with NTS is because they literally have 1000+ people doing shows all the time (and so many people leave them for other stations) they never really give people a chance.

Which is why I ended up on a different station, but they can really push people due to their partnerships with brands worldwide, but it's a shame cuz they don't put smaller people on like they used to.

mixcloud.com/NTSRadio/tiffany-calver-25th-january-2017 1:08:00 onwards is me if you wanted to listen.

That’s dope! I’ll check it out. Listening to NTS and Most recently sitting in quarantine and having a few friends and working with some local guys who DJ has inspired me to pick it up and start learning. If for no other reason than to entertain myself. Plan on ordering a basic pioneer set and going from there

Great idea. If you’re on a budget go for a controller cuz you can use Rekordbox to organise your collection and then export your playlists to USBs if you use other peoples pioneers.

Put out mixes on Mixcloud and just get in touch with stations if you want to do a show. If you’re in the states, The Lot and Balamii (where I’m on in the UK) have NY stations but you can obviously record your shows and send them in.
