I do feel that the far left and the far right are both extreme, and both try and silence people and do social control.

And mostly I do believe that the extreme sides feed each other and things just will escalate if you get seduced by your own extreme side being in power and control, because at some point the other side will gain control and mirror the extreme

I don’t see it in American politics, but it might come as a response to Trumps second term.

It hard for me to see it because I am on the left side so I am probably blind to issues, and I’m also living in socialist country, so I don’t consider people like Bernie extremely left, or some of the things that part of Americans calls far left, like a social system where taxes pays for hospitals and health care etc as extreme left.

But I can see how woke culture was extreme left and how it has stake in what we are seeing now.
A lot of allies got shamed and thrown the curb and the far right saw it and began seducing them.

“Woke left” was misappropriated by both the right wing who demonized and made fun of some of the performative actions local and state governments did in its name, and by the center-right democrats who tried to do a lot of the same performative actions to give the appearance of fighting for equality while being able to ignore the actual economic issues the majority of America was facing.

There is no extreme left in America, the “extremist” left in America that’s of any relevance in politics is slowly coming to the front in the form of the progressive party within the Democrat establishment (AOC, Bernie) and Democratic Socialist party (which is what Mamdani is). Meanwhile the extreme right is actively in power right now, there is no “meeting” with the Republican Party as it currently stands as a fascist government, you cannot negotiate in good faith with that kind of political party.

I think you are right about me falling for fear mongering. I am trying to have conversations online to see if the news cycle of my country and my algorithm is leading me to bad place(I know starting conversations online can get you radicalized so I am careful).

But you get out of fear without talking to someone and for me to talk, I don’t get anywhere if I don’t say what is on my mind and just slip behind the current praised opinion in the conversation.

And I stand by that I don’t want woke back

One thing that will help you is to stop using the word woke like a republican soccer mom on Facebook

The kind of “woke” they are fighting against is taking away indigenous people day and making sure Juneteenth is not a official holiday, nobody is getting murdered here for misgendering someone, woke won’t hurt you lil buddy

I don’t live in the US, but from the outside, the killer of Charlie Kirk and the CEO of the insurance company seems like far left.
Shooting someone you disagree with is extreme.

The destruction of stores during “BLM” also seemed like far left.
