idk if youāre referring to this exactly but the biggest gripe I have with their songs is the f***ing mixing mate so loud & unbalanced

Exactly this, otherwise I woulda listened to their music more smh
Iāve always been a massive fan of the first two albums and the songs from that era mainly, but Iām tryna find some better s*** in their later catalogue. any favorites off later albums?
truly donāt care much for wonderwall bc of how f***ing played out that song has become but champagne supernova is still classic, this performance is legendary been tryna find the coat he wears in it but s***s so og

Hometown legends for me. Not hugely into their music but if it comes on ANYWHERE, the whole place singing every word. They definitely got anthems
underrated album. people hating on it is so corny and very bandwagony i feel like
SOMEDAY YOU WILL FIND ME CAUGHT BENEATH THE LANDSLIIIIIIIIIDE
any of yāall watched the supersonic documentary? Itās not a bad watch tbh, very entertaining and easy to split up over a few days if you canāt watch all at once. the way they talk in it really just shows how much they wanted to be rockstars over everything else

not partaking in the never ending debate im interested in your favorite deep cuts from both blur & pulp tho if you care to share a few
my favorite part about oasis is liams voice tbh, the songwriting is always consistent but sometimes too boring or bland without an exciting vocal performance

try one of the b-sides like Half the World Away, way less over the top than a lot of their songs

Pulp better than both tbh, and there's a few other 90s uk bands better than blur and oasis imo

there's the B sides masterplan compilation. they kept having hits into the 2000s tho in the uk so there's probably some gems. i remember one song where they used the riff from Dead End Street by the Kinks (classic song by a 60s band influential to most brit pop bands) and that let there be love song
they peaked in the early years tho

check out Gas Panic!, Let's All Make Believe, Go Let It Out, Turn Up The Sun & The Shock of the Lightning. Pretty much all of their early B Sides are great as well
Definitely Maybe defined my adolescence and to this day still remains one of my favorite albums ever. But I will say the mixing on their records are ASSSSSSS

forreal lots and lots of noise need someone to go remix those first two albums tbh

If I recall, the reason the records are mixed so loud is because of the ālackluster performancesā of the band so theyād just layer guitars and compression to drown it out. Thatās always what Iāve heard but I could be completely off.

Be Here Now as well lmao

Iāve only come back to a few songs on BHN so I guess I just didnāt even pay attention The DāYou Know What I Mean remaster is definitely night & day when compared to the original. I heard Noel was interested in truly remastering some of their work to the degree that DYKWIM was remastered in 2016, but ended up giving up on the idea / project. imo that would be amazing for their fan base & also allow so many who are turned off by their mixing to enjoy the tunes

Yeah, he was going to do the whole album but gave up after DYKWIM
He isn't really known for good decision making, so I'm not really surprised. I'll never understand why Magic Pie is on the album, but Stay Young isn't
