It really feels like at this point his legacy has been surpassed. Wayne and Drake have better legacies at this point. Kendrick will more than likely at some point. Remove Kanye from the equation but if you include him that's another rapper.

I get what you mean. He has the acclaim, but the others have the full package aside from that and were just more the face of the culture. Nas also didn't cross generations like the others did to an extent. You gonna see people ages 13 to 50 listening to new Jay/Kanye/Em/Wayne/etc. I really don't know no 13 year old who would be rushing to hear Nas.

Some people will discount Big and PAC because they died so young, and a lot of people would prefer Nas’ style to Wayne or Drake. Nas has aged a lot more gracefully than Eminem, arguably has a higher peak and less trash albums than Jay-Z. If Kanye continues to release unfinished garbage then his credibility will be hurt too.

Em and Ye are not top 5, Hov is arguable but Nas is definitely a better artist than him
