Conspiracy theories were started by the govt themselves to distract people from real tangible issues they face everyday like stagnant wages, rising housing prices, rising tuition costs contrived to direct the youth to the military, homelessness, wealth inequality, lack of healthcare, etc.

Instead of caring about that they worried about secret societies based on sacred geometry, space, the moon landing, flat earth bullshit, and aliens. Stuff which has absolutely no direct impact on their day to day life.

That fact in itself then leads into the conversation about the Military Industrial Complex, which leads us to Israel, then we have many different conversations once we get to that point. It’s unfair to say they have no direct impact on us. I would argue that our government lying to us sets a precedent for the future, if we accept it now, we’ll accept it later, and they will keep lying and it will evolve into a worse version of what we see today, “news” outlets lying to the public, candidates bought by the elite, and a government that hides history and suppresses their people

I just think conspiracy theories about space, nasa, secret societies, are a relative waste of energy.

Conspiracies in regards to media suppression, genocides, the military, etc. a much better use of your time imo.

Yep absolutely. End of last year I was having panic attacks over climate collapse reading endless information and was so righteously mad. I realized I needed to just quit consuming that media and work with what I have in front of me. I would have just kept spiraling otherwise and lost all agency over my life.

Its really easy to become paralyzed when you give too much of your attention to media.
