I truly don’t see what their added value is. They market themselves as a “decentralized stablecoin” but they are using the US Dollar to peg to, which makes them super centralized and also subject to the inflation of this currency. Which I, especially now, find quite concerning.

You made me look into the whitepaper that they published and they describe that they want to “move off the USD peg” (section 4.7). In my eyes, that would be the only added value that they could potentially create (for if they don’t, you’re essentially just using the dollar with extra steps).

However, that section is extremely small, namely only two sentences. In one of these two sentences they write the following: “The Reserve Protocol is designed so that once the portfolio of tokenized assets held in
smart contracts is stable enough, the Reserve token can transition to representing a fractional ownership of the collateral tokens”. Now, I don’t find that transparant and clear at all, at least, they have not published a clear plan on this. Even though this would be crucial to their added value in reality.

After doing this research, I truly do not see why this is “groundbreaking” at all, nor why this would solve the problems in Venezuela. Having said that, you wrote that you read up on the project to, so what was it that convinced you that this is a good investment? As I wrote before, I’m genuinely interested.
