Would be crazy if it did alice type of numbers
is it fun?

Literally just a loading screen to mine the planets
Takes like a minute to mine to get ur tokens and can do it every 3 mins

@Tubig
depending on how ham you guys go with storage you definitely can do fine with a 6th gen i5 / amd 2600 or better
I have 200tb I need to fill sometime in my lifetime so the upgrade seems like a must lol

Ya hopefully I can get started tonight when I get home from work. Want to see how long it takes for the plots on my current rig and then I’ll go from there
I pulled some stocks out today to build a new gaming rig and for any other upgrades, been meaning to for over a year now. Built this one during Pablo Era so it’s been time lol. Then ima repurpose this one into the farming rig.
I’m off Thursday so ima start pricing everything out and getting stuff ordered.
I have about 30TB of unused externals now. Gotta figure out the most cost efficient way to go here. I did some research on building a NAS last year but never went through with it, but the $135 8TB externals were the most cost efficient drives back then. How are you getting your hard drives?

I just bought a bunch of 8tb used bulk and finding some old 2tb ones in the ewaste at my job lol
I'm sure some will fail and I'll have more headaches for going this route but hopefully cause the drives won't be being written to daily it won't be too bad
I have 10tb free on my Server and I may throw some plots on there but something to keep in mind is the plots are counted as filled blocks so if you use the drives for other purposes make sure to keep at least 20% open per drive or your drive speeds are gonna suck majorly
I'm getting a mobo to put the 5800x in but after I'm done plotting in a few months I'm going to put it in my gaming build will be a nice upgrade
Bout 30% done with my first two 100gb plots. Terabytes otw!!! Should I be good to just add a bunch (like 8 8TB to my gaming PC with a usb enclosure or get a seperate one?

it's time to BAT

the usb ones can slow down the plotting time a little but the nice thing is you can easily move them to another computer or raspberry pi after the plotting is done
How long it take?
Starting the process maybe takes 5 minutes. Itll take 12+ hrs to finish

Im not worried bout plotting time thats a one time thing correct?

correct the difficulty on the network increases over time so just keep that in mind but yeah if your only doing like 30tb it's a lot less of a worry

Yeah seemed super easy to start up when I downloaded it last night but I needed to get a couple things. Gonna start tonight

I have a 4 tb drive already and tried to do the two biggest ones and it stalled overnight cause I didnt have enough temp space 😔

Are you plotting in parallel?
Are you plotting in parallel?
Yeah it was usin 85% memory when I left for work
I boosted the numbers in the program. Hope my computer works when I get home

Do you need a full TB SSD to plot in parallel?
Do you need a full TB SSD to plot in parallel?
Apprently an SSD is inefficient cause the program writes so much to the SSD and they have a way shorter lifespan than HDD (idk if hdd even expire tbh). Im just usin a Western Digital internal drive for parellel plotting
I dont think theres a benefit to use a SSD after plotting and that only saves a few hours and whats a few hours among friends

yeah you really want a TLC SSD or a HDD for plotting
a consumer drive can write normally like 300-500 TB, you could easily shave off a bunch of its life
HDDs have a lot of moving parts and definitely die also though but they don't have some set number of writes

you need 4GB of free ram per plot
