My electric bill still gonna be cheap too cause the pi only draws so much power
Honestly though. I think I’m gonna use the pi to harvest / farm. Seems like a better use than plotting on a pi (the cpu usage)
I bet I could quadruple my output by using my gaming pc to plot, then have the pi always on harvesting / farming
instead of using GPUs or ASICs to run Proof of Work it uses Hard Drive Space called Proof of Space & Time
so it uses 1/300th the energy and unlike Proof of Stake it doesn't reward the people with the biggest bags
it has a Smart Contract platform & Token standards like Ethereum
the devs seem to be competent and have been keeping up with their release schedule which is shocking in this space lol
they're working on a Chia DEX right now
it's in the very early stages Mainnet is only a month old
thanks bro ill look into it. how profitable is mining? is that all you're mining rn. i was under the impression that for large market cap coins its pretty much useless to solo mine at this point in time since theres so many big pools and players
As said above it says 15 hours to win
was at 4 days 4 days ago
how many Plots do you have made?
and are you plotting on your Plex server also?

yeah that seems like the move with Pi just run it as a havester
You got actual PCs runnin or like raspberry pi's? I dont wanna build a PC that will be useless after ive plotted my space
I have a lot of PC hardware laying around, I had stuff from my mining rig laying around and was able to build a PC from that. another one is my Gaming PC. then the other 2 I built from stuff I had. I had a few old PC cases already
I collect 3rd-6th gen i7s and 2-8GB ram DIMMS people throw in the ewaste at my job sometimes and I buy refurbished mobos from Asia, cases and build gaming computers and sell them on eBay
so I just had to buy NVMe drives, one PSU and NVMe to PCIe adapters.. so I really only bought tons of parts for the 2x2TB Topmore NVMe 5800x node that cranks out the most plots

My pi IS my Plex server
I just direct play everything so it really uses little CPU if any at all.
With the pi I made 1 on average every 32 hours. I made about 3 so far

np, it's hard to know how profitable it is cause there really is no set price yet
people are trading futures but I think the prices will way lower once farmers can sell
they call it farming instead of mining since it's greener lol but it's the same thing
yeah that's true about the pools but that's once the network gets oversaturated
Chia is so new it hasn't gotten to that point yet so there are no Pools but I think that will change in the next few months cause the network is growing fast

ah lolol yeah I mean that is basically just a budget NAS for way less and it will have better performance
I store my stuff in h265 and use an i3 with Quick sync lol
that's honestly not bad, yeah the only bad news is it can't do parallel but if you clustered a few Pis you could lol

how long would it take to set up a farming rig with no experience? would it be worth it you think? i have a pretty powerful gaming PC i literally never use and would be down to just run that b**** 24/7 if it made sense long-term

It’s honestly pretty easy to start up, but the speed of it all will vary. Do you know what kind of CPU you have? How much RAM? And what kind of hard drives do you have?

setup isn't that hard but CPU speed and NVMe speeds are what matter for how fast you'll plot
if it's a nice gaming PC you're probably good with the CPU, the Setup is pretty easy
I just killed a NVMe drive I was using to farm Chia it was a super cheap one, the more expensive ones wouldn't have this issue
you get paid for dedicating hard drive space so the more space the bigger the reward
you'd be able to Plot all the drives on your PC and then once they're full you can just run them off any old PC or a Raspberry Pi

that PC could definitely crank out a lot of plots
I assume you have Windows installed on the SSD? you really want Windows installed on a different drive cause the NVMe is the place it does all the work, if you run the OS off the drive you'll hurt your plotting speeds
you could get a different SSD for running the plotting or get a cheaper one and run Windows off that
that drive is fast enough to run 6 plots at a time, it's def high enough quality for the plotting.. that CPU could do up to 18 plots at a time but you'd need more NVMe drives, how fast you need to plot will really depends on how many drives you buy though
then you'd need some Hard Drive space you just get some external/internal drives or use a NAS or something.
and yall know what the cap supply of the coin is gonna be?
s***post reminder thst crypto cutrency is libked to the transhumanist agenda

thanks bro. my pc is in storage rn im currently between moving places atm and in a different city but when i get back and get settled ill hit u up for more info this sounds doable. would def pay you or someone to help walk me thru how to set up and get it running. i literally never use this pc so the hard drive is pretty much empty atm and could legit run it 24/7 if it was worth it.
this price action playing very similar to july 2017 rn. if we close below 100 moving average tomorrow then bounce crazy get your f***in t*** out baby
