Nah, if u even barely manage risk decently its difficult to get burned with selling contracts. I try to use underlying stocks with rock solid fundamentals(Like AAPL and other large cap s&p stocks). Only way to get burned with theta strats is if you're using it on penny stocks or you're getting greedy with close to the money strike prices

Protip: stocks don’t have infinite downside risk. A stock can only go to down zero(delisted). They do however have infinite upside.

Not to mention of course there no such thing as “fully manage risk” in anything In life. But If you think decades of quantitative data and high level statistics can’t help you sufficiently risk manage with securities of underlying companies that literally run America then I don’t know what to tell you.
