I'm gonna dedicate a good weekend in the next month or so to catch up on some crypto knowledge. Haven't been paying attention for a month now, and I miss investing already lol

he just like me
The correlation between crypto and the stock market seems pretty real
everything is correlated in the short term
precious Metals and Crypto drop when Stocks do cause people need margin / capital and they risk off
that's just temporary though, once the economy restablizes Bitcoin rapidly out performs everything in the recovery

Good a***ysis, it’s somewhat against the idea of precious metals and Bitcoin being a hedge, but I agree that when stocks go down people need the capital to cover themselves from somewhere, and those are both very liquid sources
Following this line of thinking I think that the end of the year should look pretty good for crypto

If you think stock market will not see a correction (10-20%), then you’re good
But if you think they’ll be a correction in the market, it will hit riskier assets like crypto much harder.
But could be a good buying Opportunity
Most risk assets are heavily correlated in going up and down when looking at a couple years, but what you want to pay attention to is how the correlation becomes lower over 10 years or so and magnitude of moves up or down
For ex:
International Developed stock market and US stock market (using s&p500) are heavily correlated (.85 the past 25 years), but in 2000-2009 you saw a big difference in terms of magnitude of moves
International Developed was slightly positive, while EM had gone up 2.5x (even after 65% drawdown in 08-09) and US markets down
stocks never go down
if they do who cares about crypto you'll be worrying about food soon enough lol
my bitboy bull indicator is flashing as today he was extremely bearish on stream
do with this info as you please
lets go up now

yeah it all depends on Macro factors but it is looking good if the stock market can bounce back, imo I think it will this debt ceiling is just DC bs they always resolve after long enough
there are other factors like Chinese real estate I'm less sure about but I think it's also a little foolish to think it will prob collapse the entire system or something also when that's a rare event
Gold and Bitcoin are a hedge if you zoom out a lil, I don't think many people mean Gold and Bitcoin will pump when Stocks tank when they say that
why should bitcoin hedge metals?
Poor wording on my part, I meant Bitcoin’s recent standing as “digital gold”, meaning it would a hedge just like metals, not a hedge against metals
buy gold buy commodities
i dont understand why bitcoin and eth wouldnt be seen as a hedge against the US stock market, especially in times of stock downturn. like how is bitcoin seen as riskier than fiat lmfao, you know exactly what you're getting with btc

age USD is like a century old, amazing collateral that isn't going to tank 50% while you're trying to top up you're positions
it inflates but there are models to predict that pretty well, you might lose 10% but it's not a total unknown.. longer term it becomes more unknown but short term dollar is king
I think in 30 years maybe that's Bitcoin tho hehe
worst market day since March lol
NOW CRYPTO GO UP
crazy Ethereum was $80 18 months ago or w/e
