I think we gotta stop viewing winnable as being moderate

South Dakota voted to legalize weed ffs
    People want a progressive candidate

I don't think there is proof to suggest that on a big scale though. And don't say polls because we just saw how accurate polls are. People are fine with one or two progressive policies like legal weed and higher minimum wage but bernie's plans (paying off all student debt, etc) are a quite bit more daunting that that

    thats fair.

your mentality in general is whats a little confusing to me though. if theres even a 1% chance of creating a positive future for the world, it seems reasonable to take it. its a given that you're going to die regardless, whether its getting shot while looting a decrepit walmart or of natural causes in a hospital bed.

thats why it seems like a cope to me- remaining defeatist and apathetic in order to avoid the emotional burden of the challenge laid out for the world.

but i also recognize that everyone deals with things in their own way, so if this view is what will give you peace then more power to you.

Instead of vicariously living through news they should be focused on their own situations but they get tricked into a cycle of learned helplessness and anxiety about what the future holds

It's a run before you can walk mentality from so many young people. Maybe worry about yourself before caring about the country that put you in the mess in the first place

It's not even like the democrats are angels fighting for peoples rights anyway. They're a lesser of 2 evils

But I am pissing into the wind anyway most of you are addicted to Instagram and can't even hold a conversation anymore

    Nah lol

Its looking pretty likely that GA will turn blue and I’d bet a lot on Biden getting both MI and WI lol

Aight thought you were looking at the score and thought it was in the bag. I mean I think there's a shot but in the bag is certainly a stretch when biden is down 2+ points in each state and needs two of them

I just think the dems need more than anything someone who’s not system

They don’t need to be as progressive as Bernie but healthcare is the bar and they can’t be a cookie cutter senator candidate

Trump gets so much support because literally everyone f***ing hates the political system

    How so??

MI has about 2 million VBM left to count in ballots and it’s like 65-35 for Biden or sumn in VBM lol

His version of the green new deal wasn’t too bad

Bidens version of the green new deal is too watered down to be effective in the time frame needed to offset the damage we've done.

Not just not enough proof, but your entire party is supported by corporations who profit off of lifestyles which aren’t progressive. Pfiser doesn’t want pot legalized, nigga!

Bernie isn’t even a hard leftist and vague culture war bullshit wouldn’t have been enough to stop popular policies he backs that has majority approval from both republican and democrat voters

We’ve tried the moderate candidate twice and ate s*** cmon

    thats how he's painted

im not American and all candiates are pretty right wing coming where im coming from

but the amerage american is not gonna beleive that bernie is moderate and the point still stands

I don't think Bernie would've won either year, I know this is gonna be wildly unpopular but ultimately I think DNC chose the most "winnable" candidate both years.

The real issue is, we need to stop looking at Trump as an outlier or as a "pitiful candidate". He is a reflection of what America really is.
