you ain't lying. But I feel like 50 yrs is to far out. I think at least by 2028 and on both sides. I feel like if Trump was a democrat and acted the way he does now he would be praised and liked

No. Absolutely not. He would not be praised by Democrats. The GOP revolves around single-issue voting, nationalism, white supremacy, and faith over facts. It's legitimately central to the party and has been for decades. This makes it the party that can become fascist and subsequently the easiest to brainwash to vote a certain way.

That's literally why Trump changed all of his opinions and beliefs to side with GOP ones in order to do just that.

If Trump acted like this and was a Democrat, the DNC would have kicked him out and extradited him long ago. Younger demographics are all about inclusion, empathy, and science, so this kind of s*** wouldn't fly for them like it already doesn't.

You don't think he could appeal to most of his base now if he was a democrat. The RNC tried to rebuke him when his campaign started and eventually backed him fully

I doubt it honestly. A good bit of his rhetoric is focused on demonizing Democrats, calling them godless, liars, etc. If he was suddenly a Democrat, his base wouldn't follow him bc they've been conditioned to hate them. If he ran as an independent, it would work on his end, but he can't break the illusion of him being a savior and the idea that the Democrats are upending the nation.

And my point was that if he started out as a Democratic candidate, he would never have become president.

Trump knows how many people hate him. He's known.

He also knows how many people absolutely love him though too

And that won't change. He's a fascist leader, it's part of the brainwashing process

I genuinely think 50 years from now, we'll be experiencing a more terrifying dictator using Trump's tactics but doing so with way more intelligence and rhetorical strategies.

All Trump did was stir up the fascism in the country and convince everyone it was normal and acceptable.

    I think about this sometimes

I honestly think that Trump's base probably wouldn't go for someone that appears intelligent in the same way they go for Trump, being a loud moron is a large part of his appeal to these people

If there was going to be someone like this, they would have to be really good at putting on a front of being a total idiot while also being a skilled politician. Basically BoJo but way worse

Once the electoral college votes for Biden a month from now, there are no take backs, no contests, its done for Trump.

What happens after? I’m genuinely wondering what the f*** else he can do once its 1000% confirmed? Keep the bit up? Concede but act like you got robbed?

if you look at stats, trump lost the white male vote this election this election (or at least decreased with them significantly, they were the only demographic which I believe republicans decreased with this time), which is basically why he lost. If white men were only voting for him because he was a loud moron, then his voting base would have remained consistent. After the mid-terms trump dropped the appeal he had to those people. When was the last time he mentioned immigration? Factory workers? Protectionism? The opioid epidemic? Stricter foreign policy? Virtually everything that carried his platform in 2016 was exchanged for "TAX CUTS, 401Ks, LOOK AT THE STOCK MARKET, BTW THE OTHER SIDE IS RADICAL SOCIALISTS" generic GOP talking points post-2018 midterms and that clearly alienated a large part of his base.

He’s going to keep it up for as long as he can. Once Biden is president he’ll continue to tweet how he was cheated and how he would handle whatever current issue is going on at the time better.

The electoral college actually has to vote and vote faithfully for anything to happen

There's no end to how f***ed up this system gets

Tom Cotton is too boring get Trump’s base to vote for him. Unless Trump runs again, it’s going to be Tucker Carlson if he decides to run. Ted Cruz also.

i wouldn't underestimate just how popular Cotton's rhetoric is to drive voters against an opponent which they deeply hate. you're right Cotton has no personality, but he's all rhetoric and his rhetoric is very agreeable with his target audience. I wouldn't put Cruz in the same camp. He's like baby's first populist rn, at the core he's still a run of the mill GOP politician who simply deviates on a few issues.

carlson has all the rhetoric of cotton but with the charisma and media knowledge that made teump appealing to his base. i think he'll win the nomination if he runs (assuming trump doesn't run again or endorses someone similar)

Yeah the protectionism/nationalism stuff was important too, and probably why he lost some of his vote in 2020. But I think the personality and being visibly dumb was a large part of his outsider type appeal to the former nonvoters he mobilized in 2016
