There’s a live news conference on an Afghan channel that I’m watching
My dad is translating
Are you afghani? if so, can you provide some accurate sources or information on whats going on and what this exactly means? I'm trying to do my best by following the news but as an Non-American/Non-Afghani I seem to always end up in the "ignorant" crowd when it comes to my opinions on the matter.

Yeah I’m Afghan
Essentially it’s split between rural and conservative afghans tired of the instability America brought mixed w the promises and preexisting social order supported by the Taliban against a new and western-educated and styled millennial and gen Z youth in urban cities who saw what the US brought as a great tool for the growth of the country
On paper, the Taliban took note of this and stated that they would seek to moderately rule to make the greatest economic use of their new youth. However, their past reputation brings a lot of suspicion regarding their motives and it’s part of the reason why there’s chaos at the airport. However, nothing has really come into effect yet outside of murals of women being painted over and some other cursory stuff. We’ll have to wait and see
I do believe they’re allowing afghans who want to and can leave the opportunity to do so if they have the means to achieve it

The world needs to back em up. But instead they gonna legitimize Taliban by doing business with them. China sending over the armorer anti riot trucks as we speak.

Taliban is crazy tho they openly shoot at crowds.
The ayatollah in Iran has more finesse, over there you get snipered or taken away and killed or arrested till they pin a crime on you then killed legally.
The communist government was wayyyyyy too ahead of its time and consisted of educated urban youth and pro-Soviet bureaucrats who were overzealous
Sad to say but this country couldn't be saved tbh
300k Afghan soldiers, as soon as US left you know damn well a majority of em were already Taliban and just switched up.

Iranians and Afghans share over a millenia of culture. Afghanistan been part of Iran over many dynasties, even some afghan dynasties like the ghaznavids .
Afghanistan mirrors Iran in almost ever way. However the relationship between Iranians and Afghans is rocky and the current regimme in Iran has made it so that Iranians look down on Afghans by turning them into lower class residents and that is shameful.
The are around 3 million afghans living in iran half of them have integrated well the other half are refugees that can only get low paying construction jobs due to the government never recognizing them as citizens.... so yeah you are very correct the Ayatollah in Iran is just a toned down version of Taliban. Heck he even armed them. He got the Afghan government to play along and go with the transition under the label of peace talks in Tehran during the first month of Biden's presidency.
