To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand football and Spanish tactics. The positional play is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Juego de Posición and tactical geometry, most of the passing sequences will go right over a typical viewer's head.

There's also Luis de la Fuente's press-resistant structure, which is deftly woven into Spain's midfield transition. The true tacticians understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these passing angles, to realize that they're not just moving a ball, they say something deep about SPATIAL RELATIONSHIPS. As a consequence, people who dislike Spanish football truly ARE idiots, of course they wouldn't appreciate the genius in a standard lateral sequence, which itself is a cryptic reference to Arrigo Sacchi’s defensive compacting principles. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated casuals scratching their heads in confusion as Spanish technical superiority unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂

  • And don't even get me started on Pedri. The data a***ytics alone dictate that his footballing intellect is entirely unmatched. His Expected Threat (xT) generation via progressive passes from the half-spaces is literally in the 99th percentile of all midfielders globally. A typical simpleton @Fiasco looks at the pitch and complains that he "doesn't get enough goals or assists," completely blind to his progressive passes per 90, his zone 14 line-breaking efficiency, and his immaculate body orientation before receiving a half-turn pass. It takes a true mathematical mind to truly contextualize his genius.
