Idk most Olympic sports are still niche enough in American culture that the barrier to entry probably hasn’t changed that much over time compared to say, basketball. Still pretty much insta-Gold but the gap is smaller than ever. Not Olympic sports but Feel like baseball has trended the same way where much smaller countries are close to competing despite the talent pool discrepancy
