ahh gotcha that makes sense. is it only the tech industry that's like that?
Tech/Finance are screwed. Teaching/Nursing, we have a lot of demand for those fields.
Our Teachers/Nurses get paid really well, even better than the US/UK.
They deserve to get paid even more imo. They are the backbone of our society.
Im in a Machine Learning class rn and my final is to do a project of my own choosing that showcases different techniques and stuff I've learned throughout the class to showcase on a resume.
All of my ideas involve sports data but I feel like it won't really be taken seriously, does anyone have any recommendations for topics or methods that I could use that would stand out
Got that RTO message
Fortunately, I've done three interviews in the past day, so hoping one of these comes through.

Check on kaggle for some competitions that are similar to what you're looking for and see what they're doing/ where they're pulling their data from.
Only got PenTest+ and then my capstone and ya boy done with his cybersecurity degree
Passed pentest like 2 weeks ago. S*** was the hardest test I ever took and I’ve made 4% on a calc test in college before. Thank f*** I aint gotta do anymore. Not motivated for this capstone but thankfully got two months left in my semester.

nice! How'd the project go?

Pretty good! I ended up using a powerlifting dataset to predict deadlift numbers, I really enjoyed it. I've been messing around with trying to make NFL and UFC models now that the semesters over but it's way more complex so I'm just trying to keep on learning as much as possible while I work on them in the meantime
You over estimating what AI can do and over estimating how tech savvy the average employee is.
Helpdesk roles are going to be around for a long time. AI ain't going to replace Janice's keyboard in accounting anytime soon.
More than halfway through this Google Cybersecurity course
Passed the AZ700 Nov29, AZ104 last Tuesday, and AZ305 today
you an IT engineer or specifically azure?

Do you know how to use mimikatz and johntheripper (or any other password cracker).
I've always wondered exactly how that s*** works. Like how would you bruteforce SSH on a server that has fail2ban enabled? How do you get around the retry attempts for any login? I remember learning how you can get passwords into a sort of key file and then just try and unlock the key file to figure out the password, but I don't exactly remember...
Also it's crazy how much raw Windows knowledge you need to be an effective hacker. Stuff like privilege escalation can vary from simple to "how the f*** did they figure that out". And it's all because they know how Windows behaves at like the kernel and subsystem level.
Managing Windows servers and workstations and troubleshooting blue screens is fr baby s*** compared to what an actual hacker knows about Windows it seems.

You asking the wrong nigga my guy. I'm deadass ed when it comes to this s*** lmaoo. This just an entry level red team cert sao your knowledge base won't go that deep. Basically looking at logs and assessing. But I'll take a crack at it. Take this with a grain a salt cause this just how I see it.
Password crackers use word files in them. Like batch files with thousands of words and letter combinations. Obviously you won't be able to authenticate to a server thousands of times within an hour and any security worth a damn will see that someone is trying to brute force into your s*** when they see thousands of authenitication failures. Only way I would go forward is try and snatch that file with password hashes (passwd?) somehow and try and match it with the password cracker offline.
Being red team seems so much more complicated than being blue team. If something pop up it's mostly resolved with a google search. But if you red team? Kiss that s*** goodbye. It's gonna take months to be effective at that type of s***. F\*\*\* red team

Appreciate the insight.
Yeah man the red team stuff is what really interests me (like Mr Robot s***
).
But it's really hard to learn on your own it seems. S*** is gatekept more than any other IT skill. Good luck trying to find a good example on how to use the password cracker or some of the more complex pentest tools.
Looks like it helps to be a software engineer too and I suck at coding
