i dont think its a bad degree but also self learn AI or get AI certs at the same time or take AI classes

or focus on cybersecurity that will be needed a lot in the age of AI

I think AI will make SWE more useful before it replaces them and we could see a 5-10 years of the role changing but hiring still going up but I could be wrong man I've been wrong in the past

ai coding tools may create a jevons paradox for software: as implementation becomes cheaper, demand for software expands, increasing the value of higher-level software-engineering knowledge.

  • Suggest yall get a burner SM account and just follow people in your field/company you want to work for

Literally just take matters into your own hands and get bullish on what you want

new house? shoulda bought me a c7 corvette zr1 instead.

I’m going all out on some home automation.

I was debating on doing all Juniper gear cause I could just take it from work but I’d rather have the ease of access.

I think I have somehow dodged RTO at my company like 4-5 times now I am never giving this s*** up

I’m rocking a cloud gateway fiber, 2 U7 Pros, 2 switch ultras, and a UNVR instant at our new house

Built a whole network enclosure too, it’s pretty clean

who has advice on landing my first cybersecurity role? I’ve been in helpdesk for 6 months and figured it’s probably not too early to start studying for some certifications. I’m told ISC2 certs are more worth pursuing than the CompTIA ones. Anyone able to attest to this?

Where you doing helpdesk at? How you like it?

  • Aug 9

Been in my IT PM role for a little over a year now, it’s fun, rewarding, challenging, stressful, inspiring, busy, and lots of constant learning. Think my company wants to move me up to a VP/c-suite role within the next 5 years so I’m just staying the course.

lol, you’re too local you’d know exactly where with any hints

but it’s cool. My biggest complaints are the on-call week and It’s not as technical as I would’ve hoped. It’s already starting to feel like I’ve absorbed most of what this role will be teaching me.

Yeah I was feeling exactly that about a year in man, the on call is brutal. Do you get a lot of em during your rotation?
