I heard its oversaturated right now,
Also! While yes the market is over saturated the supply of GOOD sf professionals is low. I see it now, a lot people with jobs don’t understand the basics of sf development or why businesses use it. I be seeing it at work all the time.
It’s crazy how incompetent a dude making 100k can be.
if you can get a grasp of the fundamentals and can explain what needs to be done and why you’ll fly in the sf industry (that’s true with any industry tbh)
Also idk how old y’all are but when I was school I was super stressed about finding jobs and if I was good enough to do a job once I got one. Once I started working I realized school is harder than work lol, and once you get your first job it’s easier to get the next one.
You don't "need" a cert to get those roles.
And getting them doesn't necessarily guarantee that you will. They aren't a bad look but they also aren't a sure thing.
What you actually need is practical experience. Buying network equipment isn't feasible for everyone, I understand that. My recommendation would be to use a free resource like Cisco Packet Tracer and practice building environments and document what you're doing and learning.
Thanks for the recommendation ill look into the packet tracer.

How'd you get started? I'm in Toronto right now but was somewhat interested in getting at least one of the Salesforce's certs

Np. Check this out if you want to get started: skillsforall.com/learningcollections/cisco-packet-tracer?courseLang=en-US

Currently taking a class for CompTIA A+
How's the quiz? Seen either that it's easy or hard (mostly because it covers a wide range of topics and is general)

I’d say if you regularly use a computer and understand what does what you should do fine on part 1. Granted it’s a lot more broad than just that but just make flash cards and drill them hoes. Part 2 more scenario based and I was much more comfortable with that one.

Yeah, i’m gonna study on the s*** I feel weak on more such as networking and the math (converting binary, calculating subnet masks, etc.)
Associates degree, whats certs should I cop that aint that hard?
What's your major? You ideally should get something to compliment your degree.

Passed the CCNA using only this playlist and Cisco Packet Tracer: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxbwE86jKRgMpuZuLBivzlM8s2Dk5lXBQ
He goes over all that info

Yup same here but I heard all that binary s*** isnt even an actual requirement when ur in the field lol
My boss is gonna pay for Cloud Academy and have me get some cloud certs
Gonna do their Linux and Python class too
Anyone ever use it before?

Yeah, the practical stuff is more relevant but you have to know that to pass the test

I'm using it right now. I'd say it's pretty solid so far. I choose them over ACloudGuru because:
1) cheaper
2) content is regularly updated
Finna expense the bill to my job
Been away from work on vacation for 2 weeks. I’m ready to get back to my grind.
how's the ansible grind been?
how's the ansible grind been?
Been too busy getting huts built out. I’ve been having to play project manager for a bit. I got everything racked and stacked before I went on vacation, we’re just waiting on splicing. Then it’s just patching everything over and config. Those should be done in a month. We just hired me some help so I might have some time soon. I'm gonna be playing catch up for the next few days now that I am back.
