    i know that it's not necessarily his fault inherently but it's always insane to me whenever artists like JID just virtually disappear during their rise to popularity. I mean following Forever Story, you would have thought he would at least be doing a bigger feature run or something at all. By the time his next album drops that s*** better be generational or it's over for him getting more popular.

    The same thing happened to Boogie. I know people blame Shady Records but after Thirst 48 2 -> Singles run -> Everythings for Sale I was like damn this guy really has something. I knew he probably wouldn't be huge but man was really doing something special. Then he waited 3 years to drop a complete dud

    I just feel like signing to an artist puts a ceiling on how big you can get. You will never be the priority. Drake obviously the exception but Wayne really got out of his way. Probably another example or two but more often than not these artists don't really thrive
