i really only listened to permission to dance once, and i figured time away would help me give it a go with a clear mind. so today i watched the performance on jimmy fallon. it truly felt like an endurance test. i was watching it with my s/o and if u know anything about me, (which i mean, at this point, if u know me from ktt1, u more or less know everything), ull know bts is a huge shared love in our relationship. anyway, like midway, she gets up and leaves and says "i cant take this anymore".

it really was saddening. whats worse is theyve gotten so big that there's no way for them to get feedback that this english s*** is NOT IT. the only way they'll know to change course is if they released something colossally bad. its a downside of having such a huge and fervent fanbase.

it's like we're stuck in a meaningless feedback loop. the number 1s truly dont mean anything outside of having a dedicated and active fanbase. no matter what they release, it'll have a huge response. huge response means big success. big success means doing more of what they did last time.
