Eric Clapton
1st impressions of side 1
very great, i’ve read a few varied things about how this album as a whole, but so far so good. not a single song i didn’t enjoy (wild honey pie doesn’t count)
thank god 4 wikipedia cuz i still can’t distinguish their voices apart all that well
listen 2 of side 1 on the way
Eric Clapton
I should've lied and said it was Ringo that would have been funnier
Dear Prudence
Open up your eyes
Dear Prudence
See the sunny skies
The wind is low, the birds will sing
That you are part of everything
Dear Prudence
Won't you open up your eyes?

I should've lied and said it was Ringo that would have been funnier
lying 2 save me makes save me very sad
lying 2 save me makes save me very sad
It would have been a nice lie
A world where ringo did the lead guitar on that song is much more fun
i think dear prudence might become 1 of my fav beatles songs
don’t let the beatles elitists see this tho, they might tell me how it’s not a good song
Lennon wrote the song to confuse people who read too much into the lyrical meanings of Beatles songs, which annoyed him.2 With this in mind, the lyrics are intended to confuse the listener. Many lines refer to earlier Beatles songs, including "Strawberry Fields Forever", "I Am the Walrus", "Lady Madonna", "The Fool on the Hill", and "Fixing a Hole". The song also refers to the "Cast Iron Shore", a coastal area of south Liverpool known to local people as "The Cazzy".46 Lennon dismissed any deep meaning to the mysterious lyrics:
okay i really like this a lot
not everything has this overarching meaning, sometimes a nigga just wanna write some poetry in peace, i appreciate this a lot john

I dislike the beatles songs where it sounds like they are writing songs for little kids
Except for a couple
okay while my guitar gently weeps is like.. unbelievably gorgeous
like.. what the hell, this is like peak beatles music 2 me, this better be considered 1 of their best cuz it’s noticeably a step above the rest of their music

save me’s review of side 1 of the white album

now this was a fantastic 2 listens. i really enjoy their more upbeat music, the songwriting is top notch here. not a lot of psychedelic influence & while beatles fans seem 2 think that’s when they flourish the most, i disagree. their biggest strengths 2 me are when they are in this particular zone. the vibes are immaculate. john’s comments about glass onion let me know everything i needed 2 know about how beatles elitists are & quite honestly that’s part of the reason i never bothered giving them a shot. sometimes u just need 2 enjoy the music without an a***yzing every single f***ing thing about the music. i really appreciated reading that. if the music is good 2 u that’s all that matters, don’t make fun of other beatles fans 4 not agreeing with ur elitist takes. but this is only side 1, we have a long way 2 go.
top 3 fav songs
while my guitar gently weeps - in my novice opinion, this is the best beatles song i have heard on this journey. this isn’t hyperbole, this is genuinely how i feel. what a f***ing beautiful tune. george & eric did that
10/10
dear prudence - now this is the beatles music i love. just a simple song with beautiful instrumentation & background vocals, not taking everything so seriously. such beautiful song writing, john is a f***ing poet & he knows it. 10/10
glass onion - i love how john was basically trolling beatles fans with this 1, f*** the pseudo-intellectual types
& he still made a fire song out of it, starting 2 really become a genuine beatles fan & this was a nice way 2 validate the way i’ve been feeling about their die hard fans. 8/10
least fav song
the continuing story of bungalow bill - i don’t necessarily dislike this song but it’s pretty much my least favorite, i just looked it up & yeah yoko ono was involved & it’s pretty obvious that she had some influence & input with this song.. still a nice little tune, the meaning behind the song is pretty bleak, please stop killing animals 4 sport
overall score 8/10
opinions are subject 2 change
